In case you don't want to click on the links:

Samsung 22x DVD Writer, Sata
WDC Black 1TB
Corsair 750W
OCZ 4GB 1333MHz
EVGA P55 LE
Powercolor Radeon HD 5670
Thermaltake V3
Core i7 860

Total price: $779.93

No shipping; going to buy locally from NCIX

Let me know what you guys think about this. I'm still kind of debating the Thermaltake V3 or the NZXT Beta Evo. Also, the GPU is in question too, but I think that's the best bang for buck I can get. Uses are for photoshop and 3ds max mostly.

I'd stay away from OCZ. Go with G.Skill, Patriot or Corsair.

Why would you get a 750W PSU for that machine?

What do you plan to use the PC for? Is it primarily gaming or CPU-intensive tasks e.g. video-editing, etc? If you're gaming on this rig you're putting FAR too much money into the CPU and screwing yourself over on the GPU. Get a 750 and a 5770 if that's the case.

As for the case, I'd go with the NZXT Gamma, or, if you can put a little more money in, the M59. However, the most important thing is that you like the case's looks. However, if you can spare about $30, you can get a much better case for $80 than $50.

Oh, and Mark, why not? Because he's barely scraping by with the GPU and case.

the Case is ok, plently of ventilation , actually I like it . it even have a hole to install a Cpu cooler without removing the board, the case have no large windows, so the cabing management is not so important. $ 49 it's a good deal ...

first of all we don't see his budget, so you have no reference to say he can't afford a 750 and a better GPU and Case at the same time, and for the same reason you can afirm that is CPU is far too expensive

you get to personal with the amount people spent here , I hope you understand they are not all 16

First, if you like the case, good for you, I'm just saying that not a lot more will get a much better case.

Second, we don't see his budget, no, but by dropping the PSU a bit and going from an 860 to 750 will open up about $100+, so he would be able to get a better GPU and case for about the same amount. As for the CPU being too expensive, I said that if he's gaming, he's putting too much money into the CPU.

Lastly, I try to put together lists that spend about as much as the original list, since I tend to assume the OP has planned to spend as much as they are willing to spend. It has nothing to do with age, and I'm insulted that you brought it into the equation.
