Those are both good boards but I would go with the Asus. For Ram check G.Skill as it's usually less expensive but still great.

Not to come across as a Intel fanboy, but compare the 965 (or 955) to the i5 750. If you're going AMD to save some money, probably get the 955. But if you want the 965, the i5 750 is only $20 more and does perform better at stock speeds. The i5 750 should OC better as well.

Either way, both 965 and 750 are great chips, so I'm sure you'd be happy with both. I was thinking of getting a 965, but after doing some research, the 750 does seem to be a better buy for performance for not much more money. Just something to think about.

750 at stock is better than a 965 at stock ? And you can geta 965 for $185 now.

On average, from most of the reviews I've read the 750 tends to be better. I'm sure a lot of that is meaningless benchmark stuff and the real world difference is pretty small.

You can get the i5 750 for $210 at Newegg.ca, so I guess the difference is now $25.

I'd try to get a 955 since it'll OC to the same level as a 965 pretty much, and if you're getting one of those processors, I'll assume OC'ing will be done due to the unlocked multiplier.

I agree with most of the comments above. Overall nice build choices. I wouldn't buy the 965, since the 955 is usually a decent amount cheaper and can easily OC to the same speeds. Stock vs stock the 750 will be around the same as 955/965 (depends on which site and which tests you look at), though there are a lot of die-hard fans that will definitely say go for the 750. I say if you have the extra few dollars in your budget (for the 750 and motherboard) and are going to do some good overclocking, then go for the 750. If you need to keep costs a bit lower and want a dead simple OC option then go for the 955.
