Default $500 Budget Gaming Rig

I need suggestions on a gaming rig for $500.00 after taxes and shipping, this will need to include keyboard and mouse and case. As for a case I was leaning towards the NZXT Beta Evo. I already have a copy of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I'll be using to play games such as Modern Warefare 2 and H.A.W.X as well some graphic design with Fireworks.

All suggestions are welcome.

That's probably going to be a hard budget to fit into.... I would go for $700 if you want to game with it.

i agree... cause if he wants to get al decent components for gaming then he is gonna have to skimp somewhere with his budget.. thats why i listed a 20 dollar POS case and a 430 Watt PSU and it still don't fit his budget

I wonder if that power supply would just fry as soon as it was turned on lol. Oh and I just noticed that you posted you'll be able to spend $700 now instead?? That's a lot easier if that's what you're actually willing to spend.

[FS] Computer - RedFlagDeals.com Forums
Might have to go for someones used setup.

New wise, yeesh, that's tough.
Newegg.ca - AMD Athlon II X2 240 Regor 2.8GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors - Desktops'
Newegg.ca - ECS IC780M-A AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 770 ATX AMD Motherboard - AMD Motherboards
Newegg.ca - PQI POWER Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model MAD44GUOE-X2 - Desktop Memory
Newegg.ca - ZOTAC ZT-96SEQ3P-FDL GeForce 9600 GSO 256MB - up to 512MB with TurboCache 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card - Desktop Graphics / Video Cards
Newegg.ca - Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
Newegg.ca - COOLER MASTER Elite 460 RS-460-PSAR-J3 460W ATX12V V2.31 Power Supply - Power Supplies

There- Basic MOBO (w/o getting into crap and 2000mt/s bus), athlon ii x2 2.8ghz, 4GB RAM, 500GB Black HDD, and a 9600 GSo.
All that is $460 shipped, 440 after a rebate. Cheap out like no ones business on the case. If you shop around, you could probably get better prices, or better products at a close price, I just tried to find the cheapest gettup in a hurry without getting into junk. SLI is out of the question. Don't wimp out any worse on a PSU, it will be worth it when it doesn't bring down the motherboard lol.

I agree with the $700 Gamer mark. You could build a half decent 785g/X2 250 system for $500 with NO video card. That would give you the foundation for a decent PC. It won't game, but it'll do all the standard PC functions, including high def video play back. Then throw in a GTS250 as soon as you could afford it, or tack an extra $150 - $200 on your budget to get it or a like video card right away. Then you'd be good for gaming.

The builds I've been doing lately I just pick up a used 4870 for them, total cost of parts with taxes is just over $700 Last build was:

$56.99 Antec Three Hundred Mini Tower Gaming Case 300 ATX 3X5.25 6X3.5INT No PS Front USB & Audio SKU: 29812
$64.99 OCZ StealthXStream 600W ATX12V 20/24PIN Active PFC ATX Power Supply 120MM Fan Black SKU: 23934
$30.35 Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 AM3 LGA1366 LGA775 LGA1156 120MM SKU: 41337
$113.98 AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Dual Core Processor Socket AM3 3.1GHZ 7MB Cache 80W Retail Box SKU: 39335
$132.99 Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P AMD790X ATX AM3 DDR3 2PCI-E SATA2 RAID Sound GLAN Motherboard SKU: 36174
$85.99 G.SKILL F3-10666CL9D-4GBNQ PC3-10666 4GB 2X2GB DDR3-1333 CL9-9-9-24 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit SKU: 30167
$39.34 Samsung SH-S223L/BEBS 22X SATA Black DVD Writer Lightscribe OEM SKU: 42349
$56.99 Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 7200RPM 32MB Dual Proc SATA 3.5IN Hard Drive OEM 5YR MFR Warranty Sku:33883

Prices are probably cheaper now. Also, that 550BE dual core processor unlocked with that motherboard and turned into a quad, then I overclocked it to 3.8ghz. Course, you need to figure out where to get a video card used, but last 8800GT I bought was $65 and that's a great little video card for 20" monitors and lower
