My System Specs

Default Need your opinion and some guidance..

Current PC is:

P5QL-Pro Motherboard
4 Gigs Kingston DDR2-800 Ram
E8400 oced to 3.6ghz (cant go any higher with my P43 mobo and crappy kingston ram)
Zotac GTX 260 Amp2
Coolermaster eXtreme plus 600w PSU
500gb WD Blue Hard Drive

and soon I will have CM 690 II

What do you guys think I should do.... Save up all my money for a i5,p55 motherboard and some DDR3 ram? Or perhaps get a Q9550? but then i feel my ram and motherboard arent good enough in terms of ocing anything....

If you were me, what would you do?

The question is: what do you want to do? You have a good chip, and very nice GPU and 4Gb worth of ram; that's a nice rig.

Exactly, if it wasn't for folding I wouldn't be looking at i7 at all.... I'd stay with my Q6600's So what do you want to do?

Wow, we actually have very similar builds.

Dumping money into LGA 775 is a bad idea. Period. Save up for LGA 1156 (or 1366, but it's a lot more for marginal gains).
If you wanted to upgrade now, I'd say things like a case, PSU, HDD, etc would be good places, since I recommend a new platform and GPU prices are still VERY high (besides, your 260 should be pretty sufficient now).

Yea...I have my CM 690 II on order so i think that i made a good decision getting that since i will be able to use it for builds to come. I guess i will just hold out for 1156 or even 1366 if i get enough money to go that route... Thanks for the help guys.
