If you're currently running a 2.6G e2140 I'd expect you'll seem some pretty major gains from the quad 6600 once you get it dialed in. Cache alone would be an improvement, you should be able to easily get 3G+, and you've also got 4 full cores vice the 2 slightly crippled ones on the e2140.
Depending on what you paid for the package, you probably got a pretty decent upgrade for the price. |
ehh not bad but i think i payed too much for the q6600 from ebay( $160 with shipping and everything)
motherboard, patriot viper series 1066 ddr2, big ass heatsink, came to $270
i sold my vostro 200 to my brother for $300 and he is giving me his case and i payed $80 for my 8800 gt a few months ago, and im picking up a used silverstar 600w power supply for $70
so probably $580 than the technically free case
