Default GPU advice
Looking for advice on a GPU that only takes up one pci slot. I jut want something that is fairly cheap and can run the newest games at an above average rate. I just don't want to lose a slot from a big gpu card. Only plan on running one card.

Specs:
i7-920
640gb caviar black
corsair tx850 psu
6gb ocz gold 1600 ram
Scythe Mugen 2 REV.B. HeatPipes CPU Heatsink
cooler master hsf 922 case

asus p6t mobo

9800GT 1GB or the GT240 GDDR5 version. I think you will be happy with these.

because i'm broke now because of christmas and all my parts were on sale with about $100 in rebates. Since there is no onboard video on the mobo , I figured I needed something for the time being. I don't know what else to get.

You got a Core i7 for $100? WHAT?!

Anyways, I'd say ATI 5770 if you were willing to go dual slot, but since you don't want to you'll be stuck with a NVIDIA 8800GT/9800GT or a ATI 4850.

Well if you want something under 100$ that you will be abble to play little and swap in few week when Xmas bill will be done then...4670 is the best option...the 1GB GDDR5 version.

o if you were building this, what gpu would you put in? I want to at least save one of the slots for a wireless N card.

Should I just get something for 40 bucks just for the time being and save for something decent? Gaming really isn't important at the moment.
