My System Specs

Default I Need help on First new Build! (Newbie)

Recently, 2 of my shitty pc's broke down ( brothers pcs) and they were runnin P4's lmao. I think they overheated or something but all i know is that I dont even want to touch that shit. Its outdated now.

I told my parents and they aggreed that instead of fixing those shit computers, I can build a better computer which will be max 1k I think.

The computer will be mine and my pc I am using now will be my brothers.

My budget = 1k

Video card :I am looking for a PC that is pretty good. One that can play like crysus on max so that I wont have to upgrade in the future. Is DDR and GDDR the same thing? what is the fastest video memory or the latest technology ? I think its GDDR5 right?

CPU: I need something thats pretty good at video editing. I was thinking i5 but isnt that expensive for my budget?

I need 4gb ram - What kind of memory?

( I do not understand the 64bit operating system... does that mean I have to get a 64bit compatible mobo or are all motherbaords the same when it comes to that? help me on this)

Motherboard : which would work on this?

Those are the main things right?

I also dont know if I can order because I need to build this pc in 2 weeks. How long does it take to order from Newegg to brampton? I wont have time after 2 weeks (christmass holidays) because of school.

I'd go with something like this, although I'd recommend a GTX 260 if your an Nvidia fan or can get a better deal. Right now i5 seems to be the best bang for the buck available in the mid range market. Also, if you can afford it go with the Asus P755D (vanilla - regular version.)

64 bit operating systems are faster than 32 bit ones, but in general are less compatible with software/games/hardware etc. Almost all motherboards and CPU's nowadays have 64 bit support.

lets review the excellent list of Kayen :

i5 750 (or Phenom X4 955) very good
For Intel I prefer this Asus P755D or even better , this Gigabyte EP55-UD3R and I will order this AMD next time ASUS M4A79XTD EVO to try AMD solution
HD5770 or HD4890 +1
WD 640gb Black very good one , the best in mechanic drives
Corsair PSU +1 the best
Lancool PC K-62 very good cooling and less dust

Judging from the reviews, the LE cuts down on a few things, but still offers most of what people are looking for, especially for those who are pursuing single card solutions .
Also the Tempest Evo, is a newer case, looks to be solid, and is around the $100 range. Seems to have better cooling ;p .
Other cases in the area : HAF922 (beware of dust), and CM Storm Scout, as well as the upcoming CM 690 II .

The 4890 performs better than the 5770. But the 5770 runs cooler and uses less power than the 4890. The 5770 also has DirectX 11 support.

Ah mark I see that you are still here in the GA familly Well Kayen have a pretty solid solution here. I think OP should go with the I5+UD3R and a 5770 so it will be in business for years using DX11.
