Gotcha.

Will 520W be enough given the only thing I'm changing is CPU, RAM and Motherboard (compared to the system in my sig)

@somecanadianguy: Games mostly (Crysis, Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2, TF2, H.A.W.X.).

I was asking because the i5 750 doesn't have HT.
If you were using the system for 3d rendering and stuff I'd say go with an i7 920, or at least a higher-end p55 chip.
Some games will benefit that way too, but the i5 750 is probably fine for most gaming.

Well the i5 750 is the only one that's sold at NCIX from what I can tell.

Any other suggestions for RAM other than the G.Skill I have now? Are the Corsairs or OCZ any good?

I was thinking of the P55 i7 chips, though I think if you're going to do that you may as well go with x58 i7.

Will it make that much of a difference? I don't think I'll be able to afford i7 + X58 for the time being though.

For the Ram Question, G.Skill, Mushkin, Corsair are still good. So any of those kits that you can grab would work.

I would think i5 would probably be the best route to take if you can sell your old gear to help with the funds.
As for the PSU, I would personally upgrade , even if its only to a TX650 or so. But thats just me.

Regards,
ST

If I'm going to upgrade it's going to have to be SLI/CF capable with at least 2x5870's, will an HX650 be okay for that? I'd prefer to stay modular.

I know it's going to be fine for 1x4870, so I'll keep my HX520 for the time being. But down the line if I'm looking at a 650-750W (or even 800 - 850W) PSU what are some good choices?

I'm not much of a computer pro, and i am working on my first build too. Since your gunna stay modular right? I would suggest a OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W ATX 20/24PIN SLI Ready Modular Cables 135mm Fan 80PLUS Power Supply

NCIX.com - Buy OCZ ModXStream Pro 700W ATX 20/24PIN SLI Ready Modular Cables 135mm Fan 80PLUS Power Supply - OCZ700MXSP In Canada.

what i have been told. its a pretty good PSU and its not that pricey

Didn't get too high of a mark when [H] reviewed it is the only problem. Looks like it's rated at room temperature too.
