Confused what to do with my computer right now.
Super super duper duper poor.

No CPU, power supply & mobo are suspected.
I plugged in the power supply and it worked fine with 2 other boards (an older P4 board?, and an AM2+ ECS Geforce6100PM-V2.0 that both posted normally, but those were quick tests, don't know if i can hold up) .

Anyways EP45-DS3L, i would test it with another power supply, but i would need say power supply in question, AND a CPU filler.

Right now strapped for cash, but would like to fold / game still ( just HoN / COD4 / CODMW2 when it's out/any and all MMO's i try out) .
So i was wondering if the other two tested positive working, i would sell them off.
Use that ECS AM2+ board which currently has a sempron le1200 along with the 9800GTX+, and i pick up a decent power supply (even if the silverstone is good, i'm selling that sucker fan loud), and go at it for awhile ?

Please don't laugh. I'm actually broke rofl.
Also i have 2gb pc6400 of Patriot ram at 2.2v wth do i do with this .

I have no clue what i'm doing. Note: i'm broke.
Can spend $40 max on CPU if i stay AMD.
And max $70 for new mobo and CPU if i go intel route.
Ram is there so not an issue.
same with video card and case and HDD's.
Just need a power supply.
What's a good option around the 60-80 range.
Considering i get enough money later on and around spring/summer i go upgrade to w.e AMD's best offering is then .

What is the problem ? I don't understand

Which option i should forgo .
Use current AMD board,
Or grab an intel CPU test out current mobo if it works great, if not i'll pick up a g31 board.

I would sway towards the intel route if that board(better overclocker from what I remember) would take a q9550 down the road. If u'r st60f is a 600w then u'r good to go.

What is the problem of your computer previously? and original spec?

And also.... I would honestly try sticking everything on the AMD board and try running it, and attempt to drop some games on it(see below)

not exactly sure 40 for AMD while you have mobo and 70 if you go intel.. 40 dollar will only net you a LE-1200(I recall it's single core?) which you already have have.. and btw it's under the minimum requirement for HoN... and I am pretty confident there are MMO's that require higher in processing power. Heroes of Newerth System Requirements

there is almost no solution for 70 dollar intel cpu + mobo route.

Just need a power supply.

your 9800 will love you if you pick up a corsair 550, but you might want to try something slightly lower and enchance your budget on the cpu.

Since you are broke.. why don't you keep your PSU? I fail to see selling a psu and then buying a new product will help your situation, wouldn't a few bucks of sound dampening work be a better temp solution?

MarkOne November 4, 2009 09:41 AM

if it was on water he can OC the semtron at 3,9 easy.... but what about this EP45-DS3L , is it working, or that's the question you don't know... may be you can go to a local computer store, explain them than you want to buy a cpu but you not sure the board work... if the mtb do not boot they will tell you it's dead, just say you can afford to buy one, they will get back their CPU , but if it's working make sure to buy it. and make sure they will not charge for test.. just be honest with them.

@belink : Well i want to try and find an X2 ... a dual, i know it's plausible because i see them all the time on RFD .. just noone replies to me .
Also it's the fan that's fairly loud, and with my new smaller case, it's sightly larger, so i'd like to pick up something smaller. That or someone want to stick in the replacement fan for me?
@gingerbee: I already have a TRUE .
@markone: Good idea, i may try that .
@upcoast: not sure if the board works or not however.

gingerbee November 4, 2009 04:36 PM

well then all you need is the chip you. if the board works
