NCIX.com - Buy Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P ATX AM3 AMD790X DDR2 CrossFireX 2PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 Sound GBLAN Motherboard - GA-MA790X-UD4P In Canada.

I personally think this board is great, and Gigabyte is a good brand to choose from, I've never had an issue with their Boards.

Regards,

the Gigabyte UD3P is a solid budget board to OC and unlock (uses DDR3 tho)
There's also the DDR2 equivalent (UD3) rev 2

DDR3 is becoming cheaper than DDR2 Though. Better to get on that wagon now than wait.

I would go 785G for web surfing/E-mails and definitely go GA-MA78LM-S2 if you have some extra DDR2 and video cards around.

Thanks guy for all the answer, budget is the priority, the less money I spent on this WIFE rig, the more I have available for me….I have a SSD and a 5870 to buy , all true with all the garbage upgrade of Intel , I may be wait for the SSD

Another vote for the MA-770-UD3 (or UD3P if you prefer to go DDR3)
Absolutely no need to pay extra for a crossfire capable board if facebook/solitaire is the extent of gaming to be done on it.
