Default New Build Core i7

1. What YOUR PC will be used for.
Gaming, Downloading, Watching TV/movies

2. What YOUR budget is.
My Max is 1500-1800. Lower is always better

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
Not Really

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
I have 2 1 GB WD drives. 2 DVD/rw drives

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
I have been Reading these forums and other threads a lot trying to figure out what i want.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Overclocking

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Soon Unless im persuaded to wait for a specific time of year where the prices are too good to pass up.

Get the Hyper 212 for cooler, way cheapper and perform better then 520 and is really near the ultra 120. for the rest it's pretty well balanced. for now get a 275, they are not really pricy and 275 is coming to be rare...unless you want mine:P

Ask for more.

I have this and it works great in my I7 build. 4 ghz with stock volts (ram)
NCIX.com - Buy Mushkin HP HP3-12800 6GB DDR3 3X2GB DDR3-1600 CL 9-9-9-24 Triple Channel Memory Kit - 998659 In Canada.

Go with the TRUE or Megahalem if overclocking. The I7 chip really heats up when overclocking, I found the Hyper212+ to be inadequate when things really heat up.

If I remember right, the Solid is a series to avoid. Go with the battle-tested Vertex.

Thanks all

-Stay away from Solid series SSD
-Get the 275
-Get the mushkin ram kit which is actually cheaper

any other opinions or help is still welcomed =)

Anyone know anything more about the Windows 7 XP Mode. Because that would be the only reason to go PRO or higher ( Mostly )

Great build.. All good choices there.. Great price on the SSD, where the prices were and where they are now, prices have come down quite a bit..

A little off topic though, if you intend to overclock that sucker, be ready to swap out the heatsink with some water cooling, seriously.. those i7 run hot.. A CPU only loop would work too, dual rad good enough for a CM 922 case, but if you decide cooling the gpu too, a triple rad is needed..

Also.. The board.. NCIX.com - Buy ASUS P6T SE X58 ATX LGA1366 DDR3 LGA1366 3PCI-E16 PCI-E1 2PCI CrossFire SATA2 Motherboard - P6T SE In Canada... cheaper..
And video card.. EVGA E-GEFORCE NVIDIA GTX275, - 896-P3-1170-AR 896-P3-1170-AR

Good Luck.. :)
