My System Specs

Question Go low end or high end system?

Hiya people as some of you may know i just sold my below system this week and got quiet a hefty amount out of it. With the year almost coming to an end new stuff will be coming out after looking at the road maps for amd and intel. I currently own laptop it not able run any of the games i'd like, it more of working machine then anything. What do you guys suggest i do, go with a budget system (looking at x2 550be,x2 athlon) and go big next year when prices drop etc.

Thx for reading guys

What i have:
PSU below
Case:cm590 and a rocketfish case arriving(hoping mod it, will probably post a work log when i get everything together)
Hdd:below
dvd-rw below
sunbeam fan controller
megatron hsf
tons of fans

I'd go low end, that way you can make more frequent upgrades to "newer" tech for the same cost as buying a monster today and holding on to it for 2 years.

Matter of fact, I've got the parts you need, shoot me a pm.

I would go low end right now, athlon x2(or even x4) is at a very reasonable price/performance ratio atm. There's an interesting article in TH with AII and PII.

I say go mid-range; get a good mobo, case, HDD, etc, then use a light CPU, GPU, etc. This way you minimize the number of crappy components bought and subsequently need to be replaced. For instance, getting a M4A79XTD with a Athlon II x2 and a 4770.

I like Raserei's idea, PSU, case and HDD are things you rarely change. Mobo/cpu/ram is up to you if you want to go big or go budget
