Gaming rig, 2000$ budget what would you buy?

Hey!

So a friend of mine asked me what I could get him/build him with 2000$ cnd. He says that he wants to build a computer strong enought to blow his house if it ever has to explode... Not so sure what he meant but I still get the point.

So, all pieces will be bought in canada.

He will required an original version of windows vista with (free?) upgrade to windows7.

No monitor, mouse, keyboard are required.

He will be using the computer for pr0n and high end gaming, so the fastest, the better. :)

So, what would you buy?!

I never built anything with a ssd, is it very much faster? Because Maybe I would spend the extra money on another GPU? Or maybe 2x 640 WD BE in RAID would be a be faster?

Everyone on HWC that has any experience with SSDs will tell you that they are amazing. Sequential read speeds, the RAID may be similar speed, but the access times will still be ~10ms, where as SSDs would give 0.01ms or something crazy.

Do some pricematching with the rig Kilauea posted and you may even have some more money to work with. You may also want to check out buying the case locally as it will cost a heck of a lot to get one shipped.

I second third and fouth this. Great choices. And a HUGE **** yea on the SSD. Simply the best thing you can do to any computer these days. Period.
