My System Specs

Default Very low budget build

Hey guys,

my parent's ol' P3 seems to be dying right now (started to randomly turn off 2 weeks ago and probably don't have juice for more than some weeks)

So I'd like to get my parents an affordable PC so they can chat, listen to some music and go on the web mostly.

Here's what I've been eyeing, tho their budget would be as low as possible.

AMD Athlon II 240
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H
WD SE16 320GB
Samsung SH-S223B
Vista Home Prem. 64bits + Window 7 upgrade

I'm already giving these pieces;
Antec 900
4GB of G.Skill PC-8000
PCP&C Silencer 750W

Thanks!

Onboard GPU should be plenty. For another $10 why not get an Athlon II instead. Much better.

I'll check this out!

EDIT: There's a combo deal with the motherboard I've took, the processor is only 6$ more! And Pricematched for even less!

I just ordered the whole PC for my mom since her actual did die last night

here's what it will be;

Xigmatek MIDGARD
Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H
AMD Athlon II X2 240
Western Digital Green 500GB
Corsair XMS2 PC2-6400 4GB
BFG GS-550
Liteon IHAS124
Window 7 Home Premium OEM

I will be building it myself (saving my mom 50$ :P) and paying for the case (my Antec 900 is in terrible condition :\ ) & PSU (I prefer to keep my PCP&C750 since it's getting old and I use it as my testing PSU)

Hope my father will like it...he doesnt know...^^

I will probably add a 8800GT / 9800GT / GTS250 into it someday so I can fold with it
