You beat me to it...I'm out on the ship right now and the "connection" is satellite....a little slower than home...

You'll have a great build as well....enjoy!! Awesome for gaming!!

decided to change my case to the Obsidian, the hot swappable hdd cage is too sweet to pass up, and also the cable management system in the Obsidian is designed a lot better.

a little update, well it seems that the upgrade is going to have to wait for a little while, just found out that the wife and I are expecting our 2nd child, so the new computer takes the back burner now.
will let you all know when the build is on the table again. For all I know the wife may just say build the computer now before the 2nd one comes along. (in a dream world right lol)

My System Specs

Default Parts ordered

Well parts have ordered, switched the power supply to
NCIX.com - Buy Seasonic S12D850 850W ATX12V 70A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM San Ace Fan - S12D850 In Canada.

I did not order the Solid State Drive yet, I already purchased a blu-ray drive, and I am not worrying about hdd's as I have plenty here to use.

I added the Noctua NH-D14 and I have a NF-P12 to use so the NH-D14 will have 2 x NF-P12's on it for dual fan configuration, ordered 6 x NF-P14FLX to use as case fan's so will have a total of 7 NF-P14FLX's in the case (love that the fans will fit into a 120MM space)

I added Arctic Cooling MX-3 Thermal Compound to the order as well as NCIX.com - Buy Logisys ML12RD 12IN 18 Red LED in Acrylic Tube 4PINS Molex Connector 12V DC No Inverter Needed - ML12RD In Canada. x 2 which I was able to price match for just under $5 bucks each

and I switched the Ram to NCIX.com - Buy G.SKILL F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD Trident PC3-16000 6GB 3X2GB DDR3-2000 CL9-9-9-24 Core i7 Memory Kit - F3-16000CL9T-6GBTD In Canada. (just the one kit for now will add a second later as long as no clearance issues)

I am still going with the X58 Classified 3 SLI Board and the i7 920 D0.

I was originally going to switch to the i7 860 but from what I have read the 1366 is better for higher ram intensive programs like rendering stuff in photoshop and maya which I will be using.

Work log will be coming once I get the parts.

Oh yeah was trying to think of a name to suit the Corsair 800D with the Black and Red theme, I am a WoW fan (insert loud groan here), lore wise, so I was thinking of calling it Cataclysm any other ideas would be great as something original would be way better but unfortunately I am not really creative today.

And please let me know if you think I should change the ram to a DDR3-1600 set for overclocking, I really like how the tridents look and liked the review done here by Mac. It seems like they hold up performance wise and the lifetime warranty is a bonus.

Hey nice build its actually similar to my build although I went with the gigabyte x58A UD7 motherboard instead. I really wanted the classified to match my colour scheme but once I saw the gigabyte I was sold plus it was cheaper and had usb 3.0 and sata 6. I really wanted a full black and red pc but I didn't happen although I'm very happy with the outcome. Is your lighting very red cause mine ended up more orange. Take a look lol. My First Creation (pics)
I thought the cooling would be less then sufficient so I ended up going with the H50 cpu water cooler and adding 2 delta fans as intakes. I'm curious to know what your temps are? Are you overclocking it btw?
My idles are from 31-37 @ 3.8Ghz and full load hasn't risen past 70.

I will test the led lights tonight in my current computer, just got them today along with the motherboard
yeah I was going to go with the UD7 but decided to wait for Intel to come out with their chipset for the USB3 and Sata 6gbs
I felt that having those two features is sort of pointless at the moment as there are no current drives out for either spec, well there are some usb enclosure
stuff and a few usb 3 memory sticks but not enough to warrant the interruption in the black and red colour scheme I want :P

damn nice monitor Numar lol
