Default Upcoming I5 Build

I've been planning to build a gaming pc for my gf for a while now. And I've been collecting parts over time. The only problem is every time a sale comes up, I have to order right away before the part runs out of stock, and therefore, I can't ask you fellas what you think about my choices :D.

So how bout you guys critic my proposed build :D

I started off with the parts that depreciate in value the slowest, things like the PSU, Case, HSF.

Part I have:

Antec TP550 free (won it from the antec psu contest :D thx lpfan4ever hehehe)
CM Hyper 212 Plus $25
Antec Mini P180 $70

Samsung sata DVD writer $35 (Needed a filler item, so I grabbed this quick before the case went out of stock. Kinda regret it as this one is kind of expensive

Parts I plan to get:

Intel Core I5
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2
G.SKILL F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM Ripjaws
(or whatever quality ram is on sale at the time I order the other parts
Whatever quality hdd is on sale when I order the rest of the parts
Nvidia 3xx or Ati 5xxx

I am definitely not in a hurry to buy any of the remaining parts yet, as MW2 and the other games me n my gf are interested in aren't even out yet.

Also, kinda wish I jumped on the $200 I5, I had it in the cart and everything too!

Hopefully the prices will drop or there will be a sale that will allow me to buy my remaining parts (excluding the gfx card) for $500 shipped, as that's my current credit limit.

So what does everyone think.
Will the I5 be adequately cooled in a P180 mini? I heard the I5's are very cool running, even when max oc'd.

The mini p180 at $70 is a nice HQ case, just a bit big for mATX. I used to have one, and would have kept it if there was a better selection of 775 mATX boards. With Nehalem things in the mATX world look more attractive.

I think you'll have to buy a 120mm fan or two for the front of the case. (requires you to remove an hd cage or both if you want two fans running)
Also I would suggest the p55m-ud4 over the ud2 for better cooling of mosfets and whatnot.

I hope you wont wait for the Nvidia 300 series because they are are not going to it the store before at least 2 months. I suggest to get a 285 or 275 and sli them when they will price drop ( you will need a new PSU for that )For the rest stick with your idea it's rock solid. Ho and, the 5xxx series from ATI will suck more power than your PSU can give, look for a new one for new ATI series to.

Ask for more.

:D I have two 120mm gelid silent fans in my antec 300, gonna bring them over and put em in the P180 mini. 1 for the front of the case and one to go with the hyper 212 for push/pull

I don't know if I can justify the added $60 dollars for the ud4. Always thought mosfet cooling for more for show, than for practicality. And I'm pretty sure I won't be using cross fire or sli.

Waiting 2 months won't be too hard. I'm in no real rush to finish this build, just waiting for the perfect sales to come along :) Picking up a 285 or a 275 on the cheap when the new cards come out doesn't seem like a bad idea though :) but there's no way I'm going to SLI or X-fire, I prefer single card solutions.

What is the expected power consumption of the new cards? I plan to overclock the shizzat out of the I5 but I don't plan on touching the clock speeds of the gpu at all. I can't imagine 550watts not being enough. If I have to buy a new psu, then I'll probably just pick a smaller processor or vid card.
