Laser printer

Hello again ;)

I dont know if this is the right place, figured i'd ask anyways..

I need a laser printer.

Why? I need to print thousands of pages full of notes from school with the course programs and everything. Black and white only I dont really care about color.

Someone here must know wich is the best printer for the less pennies :)

Im on a strict budget since school restarted. Only 1 year and an half and i'll be done with university. Thx!!!

I went with the Brother HL-2140 IIRC, and it's been great. No magic bells and whistles, but I'm just finishing up my English thesis, and the printer has handled the whole process like a champ.

I think I got the printer for around $50, and the large size toner refills for nearly the same amount. I've had it for about 2 years and...hmm...I'd guess about 2500 prints, and I'm still on cartridge #2.

I've got one of the less expensive network/duplex samsung printers. Pretty happy with it, and the replacement toners are reasonably priced.

Vulcan : That very same printer you bought 50$ two years ago is now 75$ (lowest) ~125$ average

How weird is that ;D

SSWilson : what model is it?

I have a 2850 which is last years version of this model......

working hard and looking good ML-2851ND - monochrome laser - printer & multifunction | SAMSUNG

AFAIC, duplex is worth the extra few dollars you have to pay for it, especially if you're printing off reference material. This also has some pretty decent options for manipulating the pages (ie... if you want to put 2 (or more) pages / side, etc.... ).

Actually in laser printer Samsung brother and Lexmark are leading the way far beyond HP and Canon. Samsung and Brother have plenty of model wich are good and cheap and affordable with good tonner capacity and price. Lexmark is much more for corporate so unless you need to print 10 000 copy a month I'll sugest getting some good samsung for about 125$$ ( spend a little more and get better quality ) or you can get something like ML-1640 for like 60 box.
Don't forget that the tonner in the box is a 1-3 full and there is no USB cable include ( exept for lexmark.)

Ask for more.
