2x AMD Gaming Builds

Alright upgrading my PC finally it is a house warming gift to myself. ( bought first house )

building 2 PC 1 for me & one for my little bro, he is just getting the tower i need EVERYTHING else, his build will be the same as mine FYI.

Also getting it built for us we have zero intentions to build it ourself we could care less. :haha:

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Video Gaming, i use photsoshop and Cinema 4d ( so very minor 3d/photoshop work, no need for a I7 ) We will play or at least try any decent game, i play WoW alot..but would like to play other higher graphic games with decent settings.

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread $1200ish for the tower ( lil bros ) my whole set up $2000

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Canada Eh!

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture. i am neither fanboy, but for budget i prefer AMD & Nvidia set up for physx, we are SET up Nvidia. GTX 275's

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.
None

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
No we will never ever overclock we are not computer guys that way, we just want to turn the PC on and game away, so nothing overboard remember we are just regualar Joes who love to game

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Saturday will be ordering it.

Either NCIX or memory express not sure yet how i feel shipping $4000 of computers, i know how companys handles packages. ( do it for a living ) Mem express also price matches & takes 1 day to build it.

I will just post links from NCIX, i will use price canada to pricematch as well.

If you aren't overclocking, don't get a 955 Black Edition, just get a 945 for 30$ or so less.

I agree that board is for overclocking but IMO i would still use it

went with the 965 ( out of stock 955 for a few weeks ) & the asus EVO motherboard \, total came to $1977 CAD.
went with mem express to build it, funny story.. me & my bro both grabbed the same PC the next day mem express calls me & said both of the evga 275 cards are defective...had to drive up north location to grab 2 more otherwise wait a week for restock.

what are the chances of 2 video cards being defective? there system builder has been building there for long as the store has been there & first time he has ever seen that.

o well get my PC probably monday, going to miss this whole week of work due to sickness then long weekend, gaming is the cure to sickness :P 1 week solid gaming :) so happy.

thanks for all the help guys.

Is there a reason why you went with triple channel memory for an AMD build? Triple Channel was designed for the X58 platform, and I don't think it'd be fully compatible with AM3. Even if it does work, you may have paid too much for the performance you'd get in return compared to a dual channel kit.

they were out of stock of any decent 2x2 gb ram...instead of waiting 1 week for a restock going up to 6 gb is not going to kill me. well i hope not :punk:
