Faster and cheaper is the way to go! Also wanting to see the worklog for this. I read lots of them, and have learned lots that I didn't know... now if only I can talk my girlfriend into giving me her garage for case modding hmm...

Just ordered everything with EPB; so I'm expecting my shipment in a few weeks.

Thanks everyone for their help! PirceMatch worked flawlessly, was able to save about 300CAD, and even more with the MIRs.

It is an exciting day indeed =).

why not go for the X4 945 it's 199$ right now or the 955 it can be had for 229$ (same place) and won't bust you're budget

Like the others say. If you buy Ncix.. pricematch!!!!!!

Thought I'd chime in since I JUST ordered via NCIX a few hours ago, and my system is quite similar.

I got the X3 720 as well, my personal reason being that from just about every benchmark I've seen the difference in performance (for gaming, which is all I'm interested in) was extremely minimal when adding the 4th core into the mix. No need for it, not yet.

For ram I went with a pair of Muskin 1333's. I'm not real interested in OC'ing this rig, and the pricing was right. Plus I'm a huge fan of Mushkin. $75.82 for that.

For the HD, why not get the Western Digital Caviar Black 640gb instead? It's priced at $76.75, and is the superior of the two.

If you're not planning on Crossfire down the road, you can save on both the Power Supply, and the motherboard. a 650w, Corsair or Antec, will do the trick. I went with the MA770T-UD3P motherboard from Gigabyte for $83.33.

You seem to have a higher budget for this build than I did... if you're willing to drop $1500 I'd honestly recommend going straight to an i7 920, with a GTX 285. Not because I'm a believer of the extra core for gaming, but for the fact that a 920 (especially a D0 stepping, available on NCIX) can easily push past 3.4 on a good air cooler, such as a Dark Knight, V8, or even better, a Prolimatech Megalahems.
