Default newb tight budget build

This is my first time putting a PC together. I dont do alot of gaming(currently only been playing WarCraft III:Dota) , mainly web browsing. My budget is about 500-550 CAD before tax. This is what I'm planning to get so far.

AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Dual Core Processor Socket AM3 3.1GHZ 7MB Cache 80W Retail Box - $131.33
Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 500W ATX 12V V2.3 Silent Power Supply 20/24PIN 120MM Fan - $64.99
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H AMD780G mATX AM2+/AM3 PCI-E DDR2 SATA2 Video Sound GBLAN HDMI Motherboard - $87.47
G.SKILL F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - $63.99
Xigmatek HDT-S1283 Direct Touch 3 Heatpipe Heatsink AM2 LGA775 S754 S939 S940 W 120MM PWM Fan - $46.28
Western Digital SE16 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB Cache 8.9MS NCQ Hard Drive OEM 3YR MFR Warranty - $60.03
Coolermaster Elite RC-330 ATX Blk Case 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT No PS 1X120MM Rear Fan Front I/O Panel - $50.31
Samsung SH-S223Q/BEBS 22X DVD+-RW SATA DVD Writer Black Lightscribe OEM - $34.99

(ALL IN REGULAR PRICE, planning to buy in Store in NCIX) $539.39 In total so far.

A few questions:

Is everything compatible with eachother and does everything fit in the case?
Can I get better parts for the same or less money to make a better build?
If I want to buy a video card in the future, lets say a 4870/4850 or a 9800GT, will it fit in the case and will the psu be enough to handle those video cards.

Thanks in Advance and sorry if i have too many questions.

~EDIT~

So after a little bit of rethinking and price matching, I was able to upgrade some of the parts to fit my needs but at the same time keep the price to my budget.

AMD Phenom II X3 720 Black Edition Triple Core Processor AM3 2.8GHZ 7.5MB Cache 95W 45NM Retail Box - 174.98 (PRICEMATCH NEWEGG = 149.90)
Gigabyte GA-MA78GM-US2H AMD780G mATX AM2+/AM3 PCI-E DDR2 SATA2 Video Sound GBLAN HDMI Motherboard - 87.47 (PRICEMATCH CANADA BESTDIRECT = 82.91)
G.SKILL F2-6400CL5D-4GBPQ PC2-6400 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-800 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - 63.99 (PRICEMATCH CANADA BESTDIRECT = 51.79)
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 7200RPM 32MB Dual Proc 3.5IN SATA Hard Drive OEM 5YR Mfg Warranty - 84.69 (PRICEMATCH CANADA BESTDIRECT = 75.79)
Samsung SH-S223Q/BEBS 22X DVD+-RW SATA DVD Writer Black Lightscribe OEM - 34.99
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 PWM AM2 S754 S939 S940 900-2200RPM 40CFM 4PIN Heatsink Fan - 30.53
Coolermaster Extreme Power Plus 500W ATX 12V V2.3 Silent Power Supply 20/24PIN 120MM Fan - 64.99
Antec Three Hundred Mini Tower Gaming Case 300 ATX 3X5.25 6X3.5INT No PS Front USB & Audio - 78.98 (PRICEMATCH DIRECTCANADA = 57.88)

BEFORE PRICEMATCH - $620.62 AFTER PM - $540.64

For those who bought at ncix before, has anyone tried placing an order online but picking up in store and also paying(in cash) in store. Or know if this is possible.
Since I am pretty sure price matching in store will most likely be rejected.

Everything looks compatible as far as I can tell. I can recall a set of G.Skill only working with intel chipsets but that was 1000mhz ram. May want to double check though. You may consider a motherboard with advanced clock calibration and the SB710 to go for the famous unlocked 2 extra cores. I see it has the SB700, not sure about ACC or not.

Any of those cards should fit in the case but as for what they cover on the motherboard will depend on the board itself. That power supply would handle those cards too, but probably not crossfired. For 20$ more (or so) you could get a WD black hard drive, for a bit more speed.

You might be able to save money on ram, since budget brand isn't much of a performance drop unless you intend to overclock. If I were to build anything these days I'd aim for ddr3 for the little extra cost, but if your on a budget, may not be doable. Best of luck

Your build looks fine for what you're doing, although I'd really consider getting yourself a video card. A 4850, or even a 4770 would be perfect for your needs. I'd also say that the performance gain from a video card would far exceed that of overclocking or unlocking. With that in mind, I'd take the xigmatec cooler out of the build and put that money towards a GPU. AMD's stock cooler is more than adequate if you're not planning on OC'ing.

I concur. You can actually do some light overclocking with their stock coolers.

The 780g chipset's integrated will be enough for WC3: Dota.

No need to drop that extra $100 on a vid. card.

Also try the CoolerMaster Hyper 212, review is on here, and it posted nice results for quite a bit cheaper.
