need a little advice on my build.
I recently asked for advice on my old build, but that's precisely what it was: an old build.

Instead i decided to just put together a whole new personal computer, i have a little money left over and wanted to polish my build with a few extras. As far as that goes, i don't really want to replace main components, except perhaps the processor, as you will soon read my rig, even though not liquid cooled is pretty much built for Overclocking (although i will say it has been a little unsteady recently (supposedly)) but that's neither here or there. I do not need sli capable mobos either im happy with a gtx 260 or +.So if anyone has any interesting gizmos, gadget or upgrades you can think of without me having to remodel the rig i have i'd really appreciate it.

here it is :

Manufacturer: Corsair TX750 power supply
Processor: Intel Q9550 OC @ 3.5ghz 1600FSB with Noctura NH-U12p heatsink
Memory: 8GB of Patriot extreme viper series 6400 oc @850mhz
Hard Drive: 74GB Western Digital Raptor (Boot) and 1TB Western Digital Caviar Black (storage)
Video Card: EVGA GTX 260 core 216 SSC 55nm
Monitor: 24 inch Samsung SyncMaster 245 BW
Sound Card: ASUS Xonar D2
Speakers/Headphones: Sennheiser Pc 350 G4ME
Mouse: RAZER Deathadder
Mouse Surface: Razer exactmat, Razer Destructor
Operating System: Windows Vista™ Ultimate Service Pack 1 (win 7 upgrade in oct)
Motherboard: DFI LP LT X48-T2R
Computer Case: NZXT Tempest(5 or 6 fans) + NZXT Sentry Lx Fan Controller

ps. thanks for putting up with the little rant there hehe.

You don't really have any room for upgrade in your CPU. Sure you could get a Q9650 or get an E8600, but neither of these are worth it. So that rules out the CPU upgrade, RAM is plenty, for GPU you said you were fine and I wouldn't suggest getting something better now if it is not needed (unless u wanna do step up, which I have read isn't all that good). You are always better off upgrading ur GPU when u need it because that way u risk getting newer models.

You could always RAID some HDD, but for now I would say dont do anything.

I agree, nothing to do unless he wants a new video card.

hmm i agree i hear that ati is coming out with a 5xxx series? perhaps i should just wait for that to come out? Would it be wise to upgrade my cooling system? or would it just be overkill to put in liquid cooling or more fans? On that note, i also understand that the fan controller i have is pretty shitty, although i wouldn't know how to judge that besides the fan speed and the temperature, if anyone would have more advice?

From past experience, I haven't ever found a need for fan controllers since I just wire my fans up to the molex and keep them at those rpms unless I have pwm fans. I'd say the only thing you can possibly do right now is change the cooling if your deadset on altering something. Going for silence is an idea but with that velociraptor, I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

Thanks to those who replied, does anyone have anything further to add? Or do you all generally agree on what has already been said
