Default Basic HTPC build

Hi guys,

I'm working on a simple HTPC build. I want to know if these parts are ok. Heres the build:

Zotac GF9300-D-E MINI-ITX LGA775
NCIX.com - Buy Zotac GF9300-D-E MINI-ITX LGA775 GeForce 9300 DDR2 1PCI-E16 2SATA2 RAID GBLAN Wifi HDMI Motherboard - GF9300-D-E In Canada.

Apex MI-008 MINI-ITX Case
NCIX.com - Buy Apex MI-008 MINI-ITX Case Glossy Black 1X5.25 1X3.5 1X3.5INT Sfx 250W Front Audio USB - MI-008 In Canada.

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11
NCIX.com - Buy Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 3.5IN 320GB SATA 7200RPM 16MB Cache Hard Drive OEM - ST3320613AS In Canada.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400
NCIX.com - Buy Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 Dual Core Processor LGA775 2.8GHZ 1066FSB 3MB Retail - BX80571E7400 In Canada.

RAM: OCZ PC2-6400 NVIDIA 5 5 5 15 (Spare)

This will only be use for some web surfing and minor gaming of my lil bro (FLYFF :))
My question is about the PSU along with the case will it be enough for this setup? The PSU is 250W.

Thanks

I was just reading about the board you chose and people were saying that you could get away with a 120 watt psu so I would imagine that the psu with that case is more then enough

Could look at Zotac's ION-based motherboards with the Intel Atom. It won't be as powerful, but it'll still handle HD playback fine and cost less, use less power, and be pretty much silent.

Also I'd avoid the 7200.11 drives, even if it's not one of the ones with bad firmware. I'd rather not take chances. The 7200.12 500GB is like $50 and a great drive, or you could do with any Western Digital model.

I believe there's some major cooling issues with that case, so you might want to look into that assuming you don't go the Atom/ION route.

Also you could step down to a E5200 or even the dual-core Celerons since nothing demanding is being done it seems.

Just curious, are you planning to order those parts that are in the links or you own them already?
Because Newegg have some combo deals which are better and cheaper for HTCP.

have you considered an AMD system? you can pick up an ATI based mATX board with onboard ATI graphics and HDMI (superior to nVidia and Intel onboard graphics IMO). The CPU isn't as powerful but it's just a HTPC so you don't need the horse power anyways, nor the fan noise, nor the heat. And you'll probably save a bunch of ca$h in the process if you go AMD anyways; say.. perhaps, for an aftermarket sound card... why go HTPC if your going to use onboard sound? seems like a crime.. heh

From what I've read, the quality is fine. It would not be a problem if you could have the hdmi with audio. This one does not support it.

Also make sure you have a proper airflow. I have a mAtx setup and heat sinks get pretty hot.

At first I wanted to buy those Itx but I was worried about the lack of expansion slots. mAtx suits me fine. At least you can fit an aftermarket sound card and/or videocard.
