I have recently ordered up some parts for a budget gaming build. For a mother board I went with the Crossfire III, CPU is a
AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition, gpu dual
MSI R4830-T2D512 Radeon HD 4830 512MBs, for the system ram I went with
OCZ Gold AMD Edition 4GB (2 x 2GB), the cpu cooler I picked up is the OCZ Vendetta 2, the case is a NZXT Beta and the PSU I have is Antec TP3- 550 PSU.
To address the extra heat from the teo 4830s and rolling the dice on unlocking the 3rd and 4th cores on the 550 I picked up 3 more 120mm fans to keep things cool.
My questions are I am getting different results on power supply calculators for the min wattage I need for this build. Antec's site
Antec Power Supply Calculator says I will only need 338 w but when I use Asus's calc
ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- they recommend 700 w. Can anyone clarify my power needs and if the 550 w will be sufficient?
My other worry is seeing the size of the OCZ Vendetta 2 will it fit inside the NZXT Beta Case?
