My System Specs

Default Need advice on computer :D

Well, to begin with im newb, so forgive any wrong assumptions or guesses.

So here it is my rig has:
- Asus P5N-D nVIDIA nForce 750i SLI
-QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300
-4gb crucial ram 2x2
- NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT
-600W Powersupply
-SopranoRS 100 (Tower)
-24 inch samsung screen

So here's the deal, i pretty much have 500 bucks to upgrade.

I'm pretty sure i need a much better video card, the 9600gt is just not doing it for the 24 inch, i was considering the GTX 260, and i've been chewing over whether i should just get a new mobo, power supply or processor. My case also only has 2 fans, the size is standard i don't know the exact measurements, so i know i'll also need to figure that out eventually. If someone(s) would be willing to give me a hand on what the most important things to upgrade would be it would save me a lot of trouble.

Cheers!

i'd avoid the 750i, had one and there crap for overclocking.

Get a p5q series you'll be better off, i'd also recommend if your are playing any games to bite the bullet and get a decent video card. I saw a 4850 on ncix for 100 bucks!

ah thanks for the feedback,

I read up that trying to overclock q9300 is a waste of time, so if im not overclocking wouldnt it be useless to buy another motherboard, unless your suggesting just buy new processor and a new motherboard. I doubt i can buy more then 2 items with 500$

For $500 I'd get a gtx 275 and better Power Supply.

Edit: Changing the mobo won't gain you much, if at all. New vid card and ps can be reused when you next upgrade your cpu, mobo ram..

600W is more than enough for what he currently has if it's a good brand name psu. I say save some money and as other posters have said, grab a gtx275 and start overclocking no matter how bad your cpu is. Even a few hundred mhz will make a difference
