Default Help New Build i7

Alright so this will be my first completely new build and I'm wondering if someone can tell me if this would be a good setup.

The purpose of this computer is to be able to do a lot of multitasking and occasionally play games like Unreal Tournament 3. My budget is between $1000-$1400

I'm looking to buy this week as the sales I've found on these parts seems good.
This current set up will cost about 1340 with tax/shipping.(Nova Scotia, Canada)

Here are my components:

CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS Certified Active PFC Compatible with Core i7 Power ... - Retail

OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Low Voltage Desktop Memory Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK - Retail

EVGA 141-BL-E757-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX X58 SLI LE Intel Motherboard - Retail

Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Model BX80601920 - Retail

I believe these components should provide me with what I need. Any feedback would be appreciated. Don't really plan on over clocking and I prefer Intel, OCZ and Corsair components.

Good parts, and this will do all that you ask. You didn't say what resolution you are running at, but that GPU should do fine up to 1680x1050 res.
I'm not so fond of the case, personally, though. Did you check out the 690? Also on at a decent price. Newegg.ca - COOLER MASTER RC-690-KKN1-GP Black SECC/ ABS ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Computer Cases

Default Thanks

I wasn't too worried about the resolution as my monitor is only a 20" and that should work well for now.

Thanks for the case recommendation looks like I might swap cases for that one seems to be pretty good. I hadn't come across that one. Thanks

You can also get a windowed side panel for the 690, once we convince you to OC your build. :)

You might want to look at the OCZ platinum, it's supposed to be quite a bit better and has better specs with only around 10$ in price difference.

Default over clock

Yea can't say I haven't been thinking about over clocking. The motherboard along with the I7 seem like they would be easy to overclock. I may attempt that in the future after getting a better heat sink.

I would recommend shopping at DirectCanada.com or NCIX.com instead of Newegg...

What province do you live in? I'm in Ontario, so I only pay GST when shopping at the sites listed above
