CPU upgrade I have : CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Memory - Mushkin HP2 6400 4GB(PC6400) HDD - Western Digital 320Gb I want to sell and get a better processor.I do not know how much i could ask for them. What processor do you think would be good to buy. Excuse my English Thank You |
if your looking for faster you could just overclock. 6750 can go pretty good with good cooling. that's just my take on things |
If you wanna go dual the E8400 is a pretty solid performer, Q9550 if your looking for a quad. Those E6xxx series CPUs arent selling for a whole lot right now, I wouldnt list it for any more then $125 max. |
I don't think going from E6750 to E8400 is worth it. OC that chip a bit. Even I managed to get to 3.2 on my horrible mobo and also do a suicide run of 1m super pi @ 3.6 booting xp from a usb since it couldn't lock the pcie properly. In your case, instead of a new cpu could i suggest another 4870? And I agree with reality, their not worth anything anymore, i 'only' got offered $100 for my e6750 over in offtopic XD |
Don't upgrade to the e8400, you won't really notice a difference especially if you're overclocking. but if you have to upgrade for whatever reason, get the Q9550! |
