What dell to get 4 gaming?

Hello,
I have been approved for financing through dell for $1800. Only problem is i don't want to spend that much. I was looking at the dell XPS's there near the limit.

I've been out of hardware so long i dont know whats what. I want a computer that will play the latest games and still be decent 6 months - year from now. tired of buying game and having them not work. what do you guys suggest

sorry but if that is what is near 1800 just save your money and get someone to build it for you.( sorry not much help. it's a dell )

the one i posted was $749 the one i want XPS is around 1800 lol

That's actually quite bad for gaming. Tell us what you usually play, and your budget, and we can probably give you recommendations for parts.

uh....what interest rate has dell given you and the terms (48 months, 60 months) of the financing. Its important to remember that at the end of the term that computer will end up costing you far more than $1800 and will be worth next to nothing. I had originally given this option some consideration a few years ago, but after doing the calculations by the end of the terms of I could purchased 2 computers with amount I paid for one.

My rule thumb when it comes to consumer retail products financing shouldn't even be an option. If you can't afford to pay $1800 you should be looking at something within a more reasonable budget.

i was looking to spend under $1200, racing ,shooter, rpgs,

I want to play oblivion on comp also Cyris , amaricas army 3, empire total war, GTA4

yeh it is high interest, but I want to game and i hate playing shooters with a controler

If you "have" to buy a prebuilt system with decent financing, you should check out Futureshop/Best Buy, they have one of the better financing plans around for the consumer as long as you don't miss a payment and such but thats the same with every financing place.
To give an example Best Buy (and i think Futureshop) gives:
3 months no interest/no payments 0$ admin fee
1 year no interest/no payments 70$ admin fee
1 year no interest/equal payments 70$ admin fee
2 years no interest/equal payments 100$ admin fee

So really, i would stay away from Dell and most places like that because they nail you bad on the interest, where futureshop/best buy actually the better financing route if you get approved

If he can go this route it is always the best financially in the end (not paying for the overhead of also paying for a brand name computer)
