Some new parts, to replace old ones

Hey there HWC,

EDIT: Just to make it short I have $550 - $850 to buy a new CPU, CPU COOLER, MOHTERBOARD, and RAM. Details Below.

I am going to be replacing my motherboard, processor, and RAM - going to be using it in a build for a friends, and with the money I make, I'm upgrading my system. I will put the parts I'm keeping in green, and the ones I'm selling in red

This is what I have right now:

Case: Antec 1200
CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 BE @ 3.3
CPU Cooler: CoolerMaster V8
Motherboard: Biostar TA790GX AM2+
RAM: G.Skill 8GB DDRII Pc2-6400 (5-5-5-15) 1.8v - 1.9v
GPU: Sapphire 4870x2 w/ Artic Cooling Accelero XTREME
PSU: PC Power and Cooling 750w Quad-SLI/Fire

Along with some other stuff, he'll pay me $550. So take that, see what you can come up with - with the $550, and than, also have some fun and add maybe... $250 more.

Ill need a Mobo, Processor, CPU cooler, and RAM. Remember, if picking RAM thats going to be 1066MHz, 1600MHz, 2000MHz, etc, make sure the mobo can use it.

i would use the mobo u have, and a 720BE unlocked coupled with OCZ Vendetta 2. No point picking out better RAM. And add other 4870X2 :)

I dont see how it could hate your 4870x2.

It would be 100% compatible. I second going i7 if you can afford it. otheriwise get a nice q9650 or a phenom 2 955 or something and go nuts.

So all around (gaming, multitasking, etc. etc.), the i7 is better? Thats what I've heard thus far. Whats the best air-cooler I can slap on that thing?

Here's AkG's comparo list from his last review. From his Q6600 numbers, the TRUE should be about comparable to the V10. I'd be picking the Megahalem myself.
