Red face Looking for input on a gaming rig

i plan on buying a custom gaming computer from ncix and here's what i've come up with so far:

intel i7 920 quad core 2.66GHz
Asus P6T x58 SLI SATA2 mobo
3x2GB corsair core i7 memory kit
evga geforce gtx 275 "superclocked" gpu
corsair professional hx750W power supply
noctua nh-u12p i7 heatpipe cooler
western digital caviar 750GB sata2 7200rpm HDD
samsung sata 22x dvd writer
cooler master haf 932 tower
LG w2242 22 inch widescreen (8000:1, 2ms)
vista 64bit home edition

im not looking to deviate much from the budget (came to ~$2100) but if i can get any major improvements for a minor price increase i'd be willing. or if there's anything that would be incompatible, or is a poor choice, or something i should add/remove, please let me know. i'd plan on purchasing this computer within the next week or so, and i dont think i'll be overclocking it myself. thanks in advance for any input. if i forgot to add something let me know as well

Remove gtx280, add gtx275 or hd4890

I would also suggest you skip getting vista x64 and buy windows 7 x64 for $65. Google it and you'll find out where.

EDIT: I Found It!

280s are old and a gtx 275 or 4890 can beat it or have similar performance at a lower price.

In this case, performance does not equal part number

The 280 is old tech on an old node. The 275 performs the same if not better than the 280 and is more power efficient.

yup, the 275/hd4890 outperform the 280 whilst being cheaper and more power efficient. its a win win really.

I don't know how you did it, but my calculations add up to $ 1700 at least.... :(

Here are some recommendations though...

GTX 275.... cheaper/faster $ 41 cheaper
TX750 instead of HX (unless you want modular) $ 45 cheaper
WD640AALS = faster and $ 15 cheaper
Vista HPx64 = $ 125.... Windows x64 is free until June 2010

Total still comes to: C$ 1508
