I think this is just the pricing in the UK though. I look anywhere else and this sort of system is more towards 1000 or more. Computers just seem more expensive over here. But this website is great for me since it does everything. If i got the parts seperatly, I'd probably forget things as I don't know the ins and outs of computers :(
But thanks for the info guys.

Right, I've got another question about the monitor.
I'm not using a monitor as my monitor. I'm using my Samsung 26" HDTV as my monitor. Now, i've plugged it all up to my laptop and it runs great at the 1360x768 resolution which it allows. BUT, it can't run any other PC resolutions except 800x600 and 1024x768. Will this cause problems when I try to run games? Cause some put a default resolution on, and this would cause my TV to not display anything then.

Basically, is using my TV as a monitor (cause I don't have a PC one) going to be okay?

most games should allow for you to run at that resolution, new one anyhow but some older ones will give you issues and have to be run on the lower resolutions. thats why I refuse to use low end TVs as monitors that resolution sucks at 26"s.

Ah, thanks :)
I've played Half Life 2 (About the best my laptop can go) on it at the correct resolution and it looks great to be fair so I can't wait to hook something like Crysis up to it :D

Youll have to realize that at that resolution your CPU may bottleneck graphics, especially with the lower end quad, be sure to overclock to atleast 3ghz if you can to eliviate this problem =) That GTX 275 screams to be run at higher resolutions, a 9800GT could probubly handle anything at such a low res.

I don't know if you saw my latest spec, but I have decided (and now ordered :D )...

AMD Phenom x4 940 (3.0Ghz) Black Edition
4GB CORSAIR XMS2 800MHz
ASUS® M4N78 Motherboard
750GB SERIAL ATA 3-Gb/s HARD DRIVE WITH 16MB CACHE
1GB ATI RADEON™ HD 4890
ANTEC 900 BLACK GAMING CASE
700W Quiet Quad Rail PSU + 120mm Case Fan
ASUS TRITON 81 PURE COPPER BASE ULTRA COOLER (the guy on the phone recommended it)

So... did i make a smart decision? And that should be fine for a 1360x768 resolution right? Could it run for examples sake, Crysis on max at 1360x768?

In the future I will upgrade to a high res monitor, but being the poor student I am (this took 2 months wages from the pub I work at to get!) it won't be a good while till I do buy it. I wanted a future proof (ish) desktop at the most affordable price possible, and this was it for me.

All in all it cost £774 with everything i need in it.

Seems to be a pretty good build, not sure about your exact fps with Crysis but yes it'll be fine as long as you don't play on some ungodly resolution.

You might also want to pick up a cold cathode kit to light it up when some people come over to awe them a bit if they havent seen a nice computer before.

Only changes I would have made are G.Skill ram and a 640gb western digital black harddrive over that 750gb, other then that good build. If you punch that quad to 3.5ghz youll have awesome frames in crysis, not sure about max AA but you should be able to pump the graphics pretty high =)
