From what I read here the HAF is excellent for water cooling. But if you're not 100% sold on water then the HAF is tops for air cooling. Also take a look at Gigabyte boards. Less expensive than the one you listed.

I would say wait on buying prices are coming down and were soon to be at par with the dollar if you wanna save a penny as your spending 3G's i think you should wait.

I spent along time looking at motherboards and i really liked the gigabyte UD-5 for its good price, good layout, and good quality, but I finally decided on the classified. My budget is about 3000$. My current price tag is exactly $3000.16. The gigabyte has a nice layout but the classified is by far the best. I can put what ever i want. Mabye i could even ask santa for another 285 eventually. it also accomidates my sound card. Is my money better spent elsewhere? I intend to spend 3k on this. Its just a matter of getting absolute maximum performance for that price.

1 quick question on the sound card, It says it has an optical input. Does that mean that i can plug in my PS3 and use the same sound system?

Dude! Make sure you use the price match(PM) option at NCIX....! That will save you quite a few bucks!

Also: I'm missing a nice fast SSD! As for the sound card.... wasn't there anything else available without the Fatal1ty name on it?

All the prices are the cheapest i could find. I have been using price matching and searching for deals. If you know of anywhere where i could get some of these parts for less, please let me know.

I have had the suggestion for an SSD before. I decided that its alot of money and its to much money for right now but its something that i can easily add to it in the future.

I don't understand the last bit. Do you pay a high premium for that name?

Yes you do pay a premium for the name, with a build like that I would look into getting a SSD

Looks like a sweet system. When I get my lawsuit done from MVA from back in 04 (hopefully settling late this year) I've been wanting to build a simular system.

Hope it all goes well for your system!

Cheers!

I found that sound card without the fatal1ty name. Its not sold in very many places. The best one was onHop.ca Is this a good site? its $92.93 + $14.45 for shipping

In the way of speakers, what is a good 5.1 set that I can put on the wall?

Also, I got a suggestion the that psu will be at its limit on this system and will be limited in upgrades and overclocking. Would i be better off with a 1kw? If so, the fan on the 1kw is on the bottom. I have to mount it in the bottom of the case to make room for the cooling. Would it matter at all if i had it upside down in the bottom?

And, is their any difference between a rugular 285, and a "superclocked" 285 as far as hardware goes or is it the same thing but overclocked for you? Couldn't you get the same effect be overclocking it yourself and save 50$?

Excellent system, except: wasting money on sound card and 12Gig of ram.
