Super budget gaming rig for friend 500$ MAX

Okay now that my friend has learned that im building a computer he has decided on that he wants to one too. (He has a crappy old emachine) So is possible to build a gaming rig for 400$?

Preferably AMD with ATI GPU

Pretty high-end stuff for a $500 build...

That RAM definitely its a rip off. Grab some G.SKILLs, they're like $55. DDR2-800 would suffice, though I think DDR2-1000 is about the same price.

Could drop the HDD down to a 320GB or 500GB. Unless there's still stock available at that price.

IMO if you really, really want to do a budget build, get one of those low-end cases that come with 450/500W PSU's, rather than spend over $50 for a 400W alone. Yeah yeah, I know there's the quality issue with the OEM PSU's already. However, I've bought and built multiple machines using those PSU's, and none have ever failed on me. Never. You'd probably save at least $50 right there, put it towards...a better mobo? GPU?

Roughly the same price as the 7750 but a MUCH better CPU, all the 7750 is is a chopped up Phenom I...

I also agree with IMMA, for a higher end build id NEVER look at one of those case+PSU deals, but in this case you will probubly be well within the max wattage of an OEM PSU.

Not the greatest cooler but should be able to handle that system without any issues.

You MIGHT need to use one of those 4 pin to 6 pin PCI-E connectors with the PSUs but other then that Id say it would be fine. Take the money saved and throw it at this, or just leave as is and take the savings.

I also agree unless you can get yourself that hard drive for the listed price garanteed then id just grab a different drive, although the WD blacks are really fast they arent going to amount to any gain in FPS which from what I can tell is what your looking for as its listed as a budget gaming build. You should probubly answer the sticky questions about your build in your original post so people like us know what your using it for ect.

The only thing I don't agree with RS, is that XION PSU combo deal.

They are garbage, it may say 450W and you'll be lucky if it gives you 220W before it gives up the ghost.

Never use substandard PSU's, unless you like throwing away money.
