i'm currenlty working on an extremely cheap budget build and was wondering if it should be possible to run pcie 2.0 cards on pcie 1.0 without being bottlenecked.

If it's going to be a "budget" vid card in the 1.0 slot you should be fine.

What he said... And don't use SLI or crossfire over PCIe 1.0 either, but two separate cards will fine.

I'd suggest getting this processor for $10 more:

It's slightly newer and OC better, even using the stock heatsink - although I'd recommend using an aftermarket one though.

You'll get two views on this question, and neither one will be able to give you that "warm fuzzy" feeling you're looking for.

The first (mine) will suggest that you upgrade the PSU if you intend to run more than one card. The PSU in question is an older model, and while it might be able to power two cards, it'll be putting out dirty power trying to get there.

The other viewpoint (not mine) is basically "I'm running 2X GTX 260 cards off of this same PSU, and my system hasn't caught fire yet so you will be fine..... "
