Why a 790FX, go with a 790GX, it will save you at least 70$ and for 20$ more, I'll get the HAF.

Antec 902 is cooler looking then the haf :p But I agree 790x or Gx instead of the FX, also why the DFI board? those BE cpus are cake to overclock on any board and they all come with similar features for much less then a DFI UT. I personally would go with a GTX 275 over the 4890, as their the same price normally but the GTX 275 is faster, if you watch NCIX you can pick up a GTX 275 for $260-$275 commonly.

When it comes to DDR2 ram go with G.Skill or Mushkin, they are always cheap and perform well, I dont like most of OCZs DDR2 lineups, but they do make some decent DDR3 kits.

Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core Processor LGA1366 2.66GHZ Bloomfield 8MB LGA1366 4.8GT/S - DirectCanada

Corsair TX750W 750W ATX 12V 60A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 140MM Fan - DirectCanada

OCZ OCZ3RPR1866C9LV6GK Reaper 6GB 3X2GB DDR3-1866 CL9-9-9-28 240PIN Triple Channel Memory Kit - DirectCanada

Evga Geforce Gtx 275 633MHZ 896MB 2.26GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I Hdtv Out Video Card - DirectCanada

Coolermaster CM 690 Mid Tower Black ATX Case 5X5.25 5X3.5INT No PS Front USB Sound Firewire & eSATA - DirectCanada

Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB 7200RPM 32MB Dual Proc 3.5IN Sata Hard Drive Oem 5YR Mfg Warranty - DirectCanada

Lg GH22NS30 Black DVD+RW 22X8X16 DVD-RW 22X6X16 Dl 16X/12X 2MB Sata Oem - DirectCanada

That build is about $1350 in the cart before tax but free shipped, thats without shopping around at ncix and price matching, you could probubly shave another hundred off it and come within budget but would have a more all around powerfull pc for the money. Just an idea...

I would purchase from NCIX and substitute in the following parts if I were to go AMD:

NCIX.com - Buy AMD Power of Black Bundle Deal Phenom X4 940 3.0GHZ & MSI DKA790GX Platinum DDR2 Motherboard - 940-DKA790GX-Platinum In Canada.

"Free shipping" by purchasing a $10 gift card. NCIX.com - Buy NCIX.COM $10 Gift Card *Pre Activated* - NCIX-GIFTCARD-10-PA In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy Diamond Radeon HD 4770 750MHZ 512MB 3.2GHZ GDDR5 2XDVI TV Out PCI-E Video Card - 4770PE5512 In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy Patriot Viper Extreme Performance 4GB DDR2 2X2GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 4-4-4-12 Memory Kit - PVS24G6400LLK In Canada.

Just get one set of RAM instead of 2. 4GB will be plenty.

You might want to get a Corsair HX620 if you wish to go modular.

Don't forget to get NCIX to price match the competition!

Stay away from Diamond!!!

Get the HD4890, a much better graphic card than HD4770

+1 to raps comment =) 4770 is not as powerfull as a 4890. XFX all the way if your going ATI spend the little extra for the customer service and double life time warranty.

Just checked it out, looking forward to seeing what happens with those cards =D

To the OP, I think I read earlier today that NCIX had a deal on for an Asus P6T SE and a 920 for just over $500, might also be something to look at. Either way at that price vs the price you where looking at for the AMD platform intel deffinetly wins out. Theres also reviews of both the 4890 and the GTX 275 in the HWC's review section you should check out before you really decide what card to run.

Pretty sure you can flash the bios on those boards to support SLI, as far as I know any X58 board can be flashed to run SLI.
