At least a TRUE or TRUEcu then.... Why wouldn't he go for overclocking? Its just dumb to spend an extra $1000 for no good reason... Sorry to being blunt. . And you could mention to him that at least a Coolit Water/TEC cooler is factory-sealed so there's no worry for leaks and whatnot.

A TRUE (if available locally) will get you to 3.0GHZ, and a little more easily. No crazy cooling needed if the case is well-ventilated (I am not too familiar with your case). The investment in Intel SSDs will result in a much higher perceived performance increase than the 100-200MHZ difference with a simple OC to 3.0GHZ.

Truth be, for me, if I were a millionaire right now I would not get the 965, but I would get the Intel drives. Its your decision though, and perhaps if you talked to your boss, maybe you will get both. For photoshop and media work, I like the Intel processors better IMO.

Yeah the local shops have the TRUE and he wants fast HDD performance and he seemed very intrigued about SSD's.
