I chose this for a friend's build. His initial budget is 500$ but he was willing to throw in a little 100$ more.

He will be using the cpu for gaming, internet and music. Hes not an hardcore gamer, he'll play games like fallout 3 and he dosnt bother to play with lower graphics possible.

He will most likely buy a 19" flat screen monitor.

So, I have 3 questions!

1- What GPU would you recommend? I was thinking the Evga 250s superclocked for 135$ +20mir would be very nice.. but is there a card near 80-90$ that would do the trick? As I said he dosnt bother playing on lowest graphics.
2- Is the Powersupply overkill? My friend wont upgrade. He wants a cheap but strong cpu that he will be able to toss away and buy a better one later on. 600W is great, I dont know if the psu is good tho. Should he go for 500W? 550? the psu is very expensive, is there a cheaper one that would do the trick?
3- The case! That case looked great but yet again its maybe overkill. Do you know a flashy ugly case less expensive that any noob in cpu building would like? :D

THank you very much!!

I'd look at the 4770. It looks to be a beast and doesn't consume alot of power or make alot of noise

The power supply you have there isn't recommended. Look at the Corsair 450W for this build or the Seasonic that is on sale this week: NCIX.com - Buy Seasonic S12II 500W EPS12V 20/24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 80PLUS 6+8PIN PCI-E W/ 120MM Fan - SS-500GB In Canada.

For the GPU, the one you chose is seriously the best bang / buck right now.

Other options that are lower-end:

NCIX.com - Buy Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 750MHZ 512MB 1.0GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E HDMI DVI VGA HDCP Video Card - 11138-13-20R In Canada.

NCIX.com - Buy EVGA E-GEFORCE 9600GSO 650MHZ 512MB 1.8GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card - 512-P3-N963-TR In Canada.

My System Specs

Default

i would say get him/her a 640 hd just that much faster. 2 prip 320 platers = faster ( and 4770 looks real sweet )
