Give W7 a try, it's free and a new build just went up. If you have issues or dont like it you can always pick up al alternate OS.

Just get Windows 7, a new build(rumored to be the RC1 build) just leaked today. Its an awesome OS, much better than Vista and XP!

Download: x64 l x86

Not all games use punkbuster, none of the games I play online anyways. You can't blanket statement like that. With that being said, if a game you play DOES use it, and you can't stand to miss it for a little while, I'd go with Vista x64.

Otherwise there is no reason not to go with Windows 7 RC, its surprisingly stable, even thou its not done yet.

W7's window management makes handling large amounts of windows easier. I drag a window up to the top and it maximizes - drag it away and it restores to 'normal' size.
When I come back to work I cringe when I have to double click the title bar :)

I love that you can drag it to the side as well and the window then takes up half the screens. Makes using a widescreen monitor far more efficient.

So I started downloading the Windows 7 RC from the link that Chilly provided above, and I realized when I read the read me that I would need to get a beta key before they stopped giving those out. When I go to the Windows 7 site though, and click on the link for a beta key, it leaves me sitting on a page with a green circle constantly looping around, even though the page should have finished loading. How can I get a key? I'm downloading the 64-bit version for when I build my computer in a week or two, and I don't want to have downloaded the RC/have to pay for Vista when I would rather use this until Windows 7 is actually released.
