Default New Build need your reactions and suggestion :D

Hi HWC people!
I'm in need of your help again!:P
My friend ask me to help him make a computer so i have a budget of 800$ but i want your opinions on the part i selected.thanks!

1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.
Mild Gaming, Web Surfing, Mostly watching HD movies

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.
Toronto, Canada

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.
Intel and Nvidia :P The rest are okay

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.
Yes, but i didnt see any thread with the same setup as we wanted

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.
Default speeds. Its not mine :P

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?
Probably next week.

My System Specs

Uhh do you want to use the NVIDIA motherboard chipset or NVIDIA GPU? Or both? Because right now, Intel's chipsets are better and cheaper than what NVIDIA has to offer.

Go check out NCIX and use the price match feature to compare prices and to get NCIX to price match them. NCIX is often cheaper than what Canada Computers has to offer.

Overall, the build looks good. You might wanna change that Seagate 500GB for a WD or Seagate 640GB hard drive. They are one of the fastest hard drives available on the market right now.

Also consider getting 4GB RAM instead. You'll only spend an extra $20 to $30 and you won't have to worry bout looking for hard to find DDR2 RAM when DDR3 becomes standardized within the next couple years.

If so, what intel chipset mobo would u recommend :D . I think he wont SLI eitherway. I'll go for 4Gb of RAM then and for the harddrive i will go for your recommendation of 640GB WD. thanks, geokilla

P5Q or P5Q pro

ASUS P5Q Pro ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 2PCI-E16 CrossFire 3PCI-E1 2PCI SATA2 Sound GBLAN eSATA Motherboard - DirectCanada

or ...

Gigabyte EP45-UD3R ATX LGA775 P45 DDR2 1366+ 1PCI-E SATA2 RAID HD Sound GLAN 1394A Motherboard - DirectCanada

Could also go with a cheaper P43 chipset like this

Gigabyte EP43-UD3L ATX LGA775 P43 FSB 1600 OC 1PCI-E 2PCI DDR2 SATA2 HD Sound GBLAN Motherboard - DirectCanada

Thermaltake SopranoRS 101 Mid Tower ATX Case Black 4X5.25 2X3.5 5X3.5INT No PSU Side Window - DirectCanada not to bad

Thermaltake V9 ATX Mid Tower Gaming Case Black with Side Window 4X5.25 2X3.5EXT 5X3.5INT No PSU - DirectCanada a little more then the one you have listed but WAY better air flow and probubly better quality.

G.SKILL F2-8000CL5D-4GBPQ PC2-8000 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1000 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - DirectCanada

That stuff is lower price per gb then the stuff you listed ;)

Video card

EVGA E-GEFORCE GTS 250 756MHZ 512MB 2.2GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card - DirectCanada Only a tad more but would stomp a 9800GT into the ground on top of that its a better company to work with CS wise with a good warranty and step up.

+1 to what geo says 640 WD is much better drive then the SG 500.
