Default MOBO for Phenom II 720BE...

Hello,

I am about to make a rig around the Phenom II X3 720BE and I have a few questions:

-What would be a good AM3 motherboard (Mild overclocking potential and built in GFX)
-Good Price/Performance ratio

-Would a Corsair VX450watt power this machine with a HD4850? or should I opt for the TX550watt?

Thank you

If you are going to run a 4850 i'd skip the built in gfx and go with a Gigabyte MA790XT,with mild ocing the 450 would work but i'd go with the bit more headroom the 550 provides.

Heres the board I have for my phenom II, GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-MA790GP-DS4H (rev. 1.0)

From the last review I read it has one of the best built in video chipsets, and is a pretty decent OC'er. (I've never needed the on-board though)

EDIT: this is a ddr2 board, which may not be what your looking for..

I am in the same boat, and there are 2 new AM3 boards:
Asus M4A78T-E
Not All That Glitters Is Asus: M4A78T-E Socket AM3 Mainboard Review - X-bit labs
MSI 790GX-G65
Legit Reviews - MSI 790GX-G65 ATX Motherboard Review - The MSI 790GX-G65 Motherboard

The Asus board seem to have 2 minor problems (read review at conclusion)
The MSI board was given editor's award.

They are both about $180CAN.

I am leaning towards MSI, but still waiting to see what new AM3 x4 cpu that AMD is going to release. Hopefully they will do it soon, I can't wait too long now that the AM3 boards are out.
