I highly doubt youd be able to tell the difference between 3 GTX 285s and 2 GTX 295s, and youll save money on it as well. The GTX 295 will probubly be a bit faster but not enough that you could justify spending the $ on it. For what your doing a single GTX 295 will easily max anything you play with ultra high frame rates the only game my 2 9800GTX+s cant max is crysis @ 1650x1080 and these 2 cards are roughly 1 GTX 280.... FEAR 2 with max settings I get 120 fps average, farcry 2 max settings 60 fps... a GTX 295 is going to net you like 80+ fps with max settings on crysis and no other game comes close to crysis for hardware demand.
