Default Recording(guitar/vocals)/gaming/music build

Hey guys

My friend asked me to make him a nice computer for around 800$

He has no current parts exept the monitor/keyboard/mouse

He wants to play the upcomming games like sc2 and already existing games like call of duty 4 with highest graphic possible.

This is what I came up with

Case : antec 300
Psu : No specific psu, anything around 500W i think will be enought. Hints are welcome.
CPU : AMD 5000+ OC @ 3.0ghz
Mobo : I was thinking about the GA-MA74GM-S2 board since its a good but cheap ocer
Ram : 4gb of 800mhz ram, since the board only takes 800 or -
HDD : 500GB 32mb
CD/DVD : standard LG 22x
Video : I was thinking about a 4830 maybe? or a 9800GT. comments are welcome

All this should be aroung 600$ Its not the best possible yet, so any comments are highly appreciated :)

Now, for the diffucult part. What card do I need to plug in a guitar or a microphone and record professionnal sound?

Any idea ?

I'll post a reply with updates on the prices asap.

EDIT :
68.41$ Case : Antec Three Hundred Mini Tower Gaming Case 300 Atx 3X5.25 6X3.5INT No Ps Front Usb & Audio (THREE HUNDRED)
39.99$ PSU :
OCZ StealthXStream 500W Power Supply - Active PFC, 120mm Fan (OCZ500SXS)
68.45$ Mobo : GIGABYTE SKT.AM2/AM2+ AMD740G (GA-MA74GM-S2)
75.99$ CPU :
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ Socket AM2 CPU
34.99$ RAM :
Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X4096-6400C5 4GB DDR2 2X2GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 CL 5-5-5-18 240PIN Memory Kit (TWIN2X4096-6400C5)
68.99$ HDD :
Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 3.5IN 500GB SATA2 8.5MS 7200RPM 32MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive OEM (ST3500320AS)
24.01$ DVD : Samsung SH-S223F/BEBS 22X Speed Plus Black SATA DVD Writer OEM ($3.99 Express Shipping) (SH-S223F/BEBS)

109.99$ VIDEO : Sapphire Radeon HD 4830 512Mb PCI-E GDDR3 Dvi/Tv Video Card Retail Box (288-20E81-350SA)

SUB TOTAL : 490.82$

Well... might kick this up a little bit since its cheaper than I tought. Maybe a RAID mobo (the mobo I listed is supposed to have RAID is it real?) with a 2nd HDD would speed up the cpu nicely. Other than that, the recording sound card is still missing.
