All 22"s are about the same IMO. They all basically use the same TN panels from the same companies. I think there's only a few that are in production.

Any monitor will require tweaking of settings to get the colours decent.

I'd get this one though, since it uses an IPS panel (only 22" I know that does): Dell : Dell UltraSharp 2209WA 22-inch Black Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor : Displays : Home & Home Office

TRUST me on this: The BEST upgrade I ever did was buy a BIG monitor. It just brings you INTO the game. Save your money and get a 24", heck, even the Acer 243 is better than a little 22"er! LOL

And if you REALLY save, get a 30! They're simply STUNNING and they'll really put that video card to work!!!

I saw the Samsung 2253lw, not sure of the difference between the lw and bw, but it's $230 at BestBuy, so I think I'll pick this one up. Thanks.

There are some 1920x1080 22" monitors out there. They go for a decent price as well.

Acer H233H 23IN LCD Widescreen Monitor Black 1920X1080 40000:1 5MS VGA DVI HDMI - DirectCanada

Acer makes decent monitors and at a good price, like its been pointed out most monitors at this size arent going to show much difference but this monitor is atleast the midway between 23 and 24, ive seen one and used one and I liked it, had great color and response when gaming which is all we used it for, and the HDMI and 16:9 resolution was nice, its a little wider then a normal 16:10 monitor.

LG W2242TQ-BF 22IN Widescreen LCD Black 2MS 1680X1050 8000:1 300CD/M2 VGA DVI Tilt Monitor - DirectCanada

Ive always been a fan of LGs monitors, they normally look nice and have great color and contrast. My gf has the 19 inch version of this one and i have the older 20 inch version with less contrast and I deffinetly notice a difference between the 2, hers has way more vibrant colors and the contrast difference is deffinetly there. Sammys are ok but I hate the new ones with that stupid red on black tint.

LG W2442PA-BF 24IN Widescreen LCD Monitor Black 2MS 10000:1 300CDM 1920X1080 1080P HAS Tilt HDMI DVI - DirectCanada

You could throw in $40 more and get a decent 24" LG, again I like these monitors and I believe best buy and futureshop have these on display so you could check them out first.

The LW is a 21.6" while the BW is a 22". I heard somewhere that the LW has less backlight bleed. BW is a good monitor for the price.

Dell uses samsung, lg, chimei, etc... same as everyone else. Brand has little to do with quality imo. It all depends on what you're looking for and your budget. The 2209WA from Dell is probably the best 22" I've ever seen, but it is no longer at the one time only price of $220. Otherwise any 22" is pretty much just like the next imo.

Pretty much all of Dell's IPS panels come from LG (like the 2209wa) and all their PVA panels come from Samsung. But don't be fooled. That doesn't mean every LG panel is IPS and every Sammy is PVA.
