Default Best DVD Drive For Gaming etc.
Hello everyone I was just wondering what would be the best kind of drive for my computing needs. I will be gaming, making audio CD's and copying movies onto DVD's. I have quickly chosen the LG GH22NS30 Black SATA DVD-Writer. Any recommendations? Thx :)

These guys are all going to recommend Pioneer, Samsung, and LG.

It's not a very high-price thing, generally. It's more a matter of preference, as performance differences are not very large if present at all.

Boils down to how much noise the drive makes, and how long it lasts.

LG's are pretty durable and are what i've used mostly.

LG and Sammy! Never used Pioneer, heard good things, though.

Personally, I would get a samsung, using an LG right now, it's fine, next one will be a sammy.

I've got a writemaster drive in my main pc right now, and a pioneer drive in my server. The difference is amazing. The pioneer doesn't make nearly as much noise when burning as the writemaster. I'll give +1 to pioneer

The LGs can get pretty loud depending on what your doing with them, My new LG Super multi winds up pretty good when its booting or burning dual layers. I know pioneers are pretty quiet though, and seem to be very good build quality.

I have both a Samsung and Pioneer in my current system. Both are excellent, although I have to say the Pioneer is definitely the quieter of the two.
