Default Last time lol. Canadacomputers.com 900 bucks build?

Hey guys its me again and i promise this is the last thread for me about building a computer.

i have $1200 and planning to build a good system

my old thread is located here

Is $800 enough to build a decent gaming computer?

i want to pick everything locally and so far the only store that has good prices that i know of in Ottawa is canadacomputers.com

I'm planning to pick up the parts on friday or saturday the latest. I was also considering that i build a system around 900 bucks(visa) and the other 300(cash) would leave for monitor + accessories.

they seem to have good bundles.

Canada Computers - CPU : AMD Phenom II X4 920 Quad Core + Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 Motherboard.

i think this bundle is nice but i don't know much about computers and I'm really excited to build one(going to take me along time but there is a first time for everything ).

your thoughts? should i stick to what was said in my old thread or did the prices change? remember guys it would be great to pick them up locally but if ncix beats it i would order them tomorrow i guess.

one more thing do i leave the video card out and buy it later when prices drop as in buy everything(including monitor + keyboard+ mouse) except the videocard, then buy that later with the 300 bucks cash?

Aww man thats to bad, well as for prices, they may have fluctuated a tad but I wouldnt expect then to be to far off. If your going to have a budget of $1200 you might want to try going with a phenom II x3 720 BE and a 790X or GX motherboard (gigabyte has some good ones for cheap) just for a little more horse power, would easily out perform that E5200. Other then that try the GTS 250 for a GPU as its the new 9800GTX re badge but with a little less heat and power usage.

Maybe some G.Skill PC 6400 with 4 - 4 - 4 timings, no matter what anyone says their great moduals. And id go with a CM-690 or maybe an Antec 902 case instead of a 300.

RS, I'm checking the prices for you suggestions and there are many Ram types and did you mean the 2 gig ones or 4 gigs? which brand? and which brand on the video card? bfg, asus, msi?

Ok 1 sec ill give you some links...

EVGA E-GEFORCE GTS 250 756MHZ 512MB 2.2GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDTV Out Video Card - DirectCanada

GTS 250 with lifetime waranty

G.SKILL F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK PC2-8500 4GB 2X2GB DDR2-1066 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN Dual Channel Memory Kit - DirectCanada

Id go with that ram, the PC 6400 is sold out but that ram would be great, you can run it at 800mhz unclocked and still get 4-4-4-12 timings.

Gigabyte MA790X-UD4P ATX AM3 AMD790X DDR2 CrossFireX 2PCI-E 2PCI SATA2 Sound GBLAN Motherboard - DirectCanada

if you where to go with the AMD build that would be a great motherboard to go with.

EDIT: EVGA E-GEFORCE GTX 260 Core 216 SC 55NM Mirror 626MHZ 896MB 2.1GHZ DDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I Video Card - DirectCanada

Also a good deal if you want to spend a little more on the video card, a GTX260 would be a great card to run if you like to game, but either this or the GTS 250 would probubly suit this build just fine.

BFG is pretty good yup, umm id go with a corsair myself, probubly a TX650 or VX550, either would do. Actually I dont even think you need to look at the TX650 unless you plan on upgrading down the road, and if that was the case id say TX750 just to give you some head room if you decide to go SLI.

Corsair VX550W 550W ATX 12V 41A 24PIN ATX Power Supply Active PFC 120MM Fan - DirectCanada

Corsair HX520W CMPSU-520HX ATX Triple 12V 40A 24PIN ATX Modular Power Supply 120MM Fan 2X PCI-E - DirectCanada

theres also that HX520, its modular but it also costs a decent amount more.

What GPU did you decide to go with?

EDIT: Id totaly just go with the VX550w, even the GTX260 calls for a 500w psu so 550w should be fine. Those corsair power supplys are pretty damn reliable and have a ton of amps on the 12v.

I'm following everything you suggested word for word except psu so far but im on it.

the gpu is this one

Canada Computers - Video Cards > PCI-Express Cards > Powered By nVidia : BFG GeForce GTS 250 (BFGEGTS250512OCE) Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 Chipset (750Mhz) Shader Clock (1836Mhz) 512MB GDDR3 (2240Mhz) Dual Dual-Link DVI PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card.

Go with the 550w, its cheaper then the TX650 and will do just fine. Those GTS 250s dont take alot of power.
