Default Word 2007 on Intel i7 cpu please

First, thanks to H Canucks for this most valuable site. I have just read the extremely comprehensive review of new Intel i7 processors, with all Test results.
My request is: can someone please run ONLY Word 2007 on an i7920, and tell me how long it takes to load?
(In case it's of interest to anyone, I am a writer of novels -- formerly Naval programmer in Stone Age -- and have a custom Word Processor which is an amalgam of Xerox original architecture for 850 hardwired WP, and MS Word. The latter has always been bad and latest W2007 is worst for loading and extraneous garbage. I have to use it in conjunction with X Keys; and delays in XP with a P4 are completely unacceptable.)
Gracias to max for any advice.

Remember, this has more to do with your hard drive than your processor.

In my case with an i7 920 and a WD Black 640GB it takes about a second.

Yep, what he said... will rely pretty well only on the hard drives to load up word.

Loading word2002 takes about.... er.. 1 /10th of a second for me...

with a dualcore E7400 even at stock it was about a second on a single 640gb black. Maybe 2...

With a 400GB RAID0 partition on WD 640GB Blacks and Vista Ultimate x64 SP1, along with all Office 2007 updates...

It takes like 1 second? At the most.

Even my laptop opens it pretty fast which only has a 5400RPM 250GB drive.

Hit the damn tab in previous reply!
My drive will be a Corsair 128 SSD, so that won't slow things down.
Word 2002 was lightning compared to W07.

Now the tough follow-up: can anyone give the speed pf loading W07 in i7965???

Since our i7 are overclocked past the speed of that... it won't be any faster, really... and it depends on the hard drive.. if you used a stock i7 at 2.66 GHz vs a 3.8GHz clocked i7 with the same hard drives, I bet the speed difference would be barely even noticeable..

i7 is horibly overkill for a word processing machine, an I7 is over kill for anything but advanced computing right now, end of story.

Hah, yeah.

Paleo, you need nothing better than a good dual-core and a 7200rpm hard drive. You'll have no problems at all running what you're asking for, and you can save yourself a whole bunch of money.

An i7 is overkill.
