Default Need Help Choosing x58 Mobo

Im looking at these specs right now:
Core i7 920
OCZ Platinum DDR3 1600 3x2GB
ATI 4870 1GB

I don't ever plan on crossfire or SLI and I'm primarily interested in a workstation/gaming computer. I'm looking for a mobo that has 6 slots of DDR3 and can run a core i7 at 3.6Ghz stable on air for a very long time. Additionally I'm hoping it's selling in Canada for under $300 CAD.

Any help is appreciated.

Your choice of motherboard should dictate your RAM selection, not vice-versa... for your price range, Gigabyte offers a few boards, for just over $300 you can go for the Asus P6T or the DFI LP DK (T3EH6).

If he wants 12 gbs of ram then he would also want 6 ram slots.... so far there are no memory moduals that support 3gb per dimm... The board listed above is a great board for under $300, why are you thread crapping every thread you enter?

I was referring to his selection of OCZ, not the amount. The motherboard should dictate the brand of RAM as well as the best supported timings -- they don't all "play nice".

I'm not, don't get confused by one post in one thread... I always do my best to help out other DIYers, and hope they can learn from the mistakes I, and others, have made.

Actually you'll notice that board is Crossfire ONLY
Not ALL X58 is SLI/Xfire, especially the cheaper ones because the way they cut down in price is not include the NF200 chip for SLI.

I realized Crossfire/SLI is not of concern for the OP but it's still important to note that X58 does not always mean SLI AND CROSSFIRE is available.
