Also, you have listed 2 wc systems, the Custom and the Aquagate - which is not compatible with the 1366 socket. If you go the Custom path, you're missing a few components.

You'll need some serious cooling - airflow for the board. That chipset runs hot.

I would change the PSU for either a Corsair 1000W, Antec Quattro 1000W or Thermaltake 1200W. I would not trust the CM for such hardware.

I will really spend 7k for such a system. For same price, I can get a dual opteron DL385G5 with 32GB of ram with 2x 72GB SSD drive. But it's not really quiet in a room. My primary goal here is to work with this build. I'll run VMware Workstation probably under linux with dual boot in windows for gaming.

My question should have been a comment; you do not need to spend 7k on such requirements: Virtualization, Video Editing, Internet and Gaming. Second, for VMs dual procs (and lots of Ram) are much better than a single chip with HT. If I had your needs with your budget, I'd jump on the Opty rig (with water-cooling) in a second.

Have you ever built a complete system? Personally I would not have based by component choices on a list from some Internet site.

As for the CM Pro1000 PSU, I've read too many issues related to CM PSUs.

I really need this system because on my current system when a lot of animlas get on screen it slows down a bit and I like to play at the accerated speed once I get the Zoo's foundation in place. I'm thinking about adding a send SLC SSD for raid 0 as well since it will help loading the animals faster.

I'll second 3.0's sentiments. For that kind of cash, you could buy a similar-spec'd Dell XPS with a decent warranty.

For your video cards, maybe you could opt for BFG instead of ASUS. BFG offers lifetime warranty on them too. Not saying ASUS is bad, but I like BFG's warranty. Also considering they are on special this week at NCIX, now would be a great chance to buy them.

So, I'm guessing you need a lot of crunching power to do your rendering and such right. Your RAID SSDs would be make sense and I'm guess all your applications will be installed on that RAID correct?

Also, I noticed... you don't seem to have a Power Supply (unless my eyes are starting to fail me ). But with that much power being drawn... I would go for a 1000w minimum. Then I would suggest this one:

You'll have plenty of power with that one, and also plenty of power sources (SATAs, 8 Pins and so on)

Nice Rig BTW, I would love to have that kind of budget for a computer
