1. What YOUR PC will be used for. That means what types of tasks you'll be performing.

Virtualization, Video Editing, Internet and Gaming

2. What YOUR budget is. A price range is acceptable as long as it's not more than a 20% spread

7000$ Canadian dollars

3. What country YOU will be buying YOUR parts from.

Canada

4. IF YOU have a brand preference. That means, are you an Intel-Fanboy, AMD-Fanboy, ATI-Fanboy, nVidia-Fanboy, Seagate-Fanboy, WD-Fanboy, etc, etc, etc, you get the picture.

Nope

5. If YOU intend on using any of YOUR current parts, and if so, what those parts are.

None

6. IF YOU have searched and/or read similar threads.

A lot, I base my build on toms and clubic dream machine

7. IF YOU plan on overclocking or run the system at default speeds.

A little bit, but want something quiet

8. WHEN do you plan to build it?

As soon as my list is completed

Do you really want to spend 7k?

Also, you have listed 2 wc systems, the Custom and the Aquagate - which is not compatible with the 1366 socket. If you go the Custom path, you're missing a few components.

You'll need some serious cooling - airflow for the board. That chipset runs hot.

I would change the PSU for either a Corsair 1000W, Antec Quattro 1000W or Thermaltake 1200W. I would not trust the CM for such hardware.

I will really spend 7k for such a system. For same price, I can get a dual opteron DL385G5 with 32GB of ram with 2x 72GB SSD drive. But it's not really quiet in a room. My primary goal here is to work with this build. I'll run VMware Workstation probably under linux with dual boot in windows for gaming.

My listing include a complete watercooling kit with some upgrade to get it working on a 1366 socket. I didn't create this build all by myself. You can check here http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/...k-i7,2145.html

Is there any issue with Cooler Master PSU ?

Merci

My question should have been a comment; you do not need to spend 7k on such requirements: Virtualization, Video Editing, Internet and Gaming. Second, for VMs dual procs (and lots of Ram) are much better than a single chip with HT. If I had your needs with your budget, I'd jump on the Opty rig (with water-cooling) in a second.

Have you ever built a complete system? Personally I would not have based by component choices on a list from some Internet site.

As for the CM Pro1000 PSU, I've read too many issues related to CM PSUs.

$4200

I really need this system because on my current system when a lot of animlas get on screen it slows down a bit and I like to play at the accerated speed once I get the Zoo's foundation in place. I'm thinking about adding a send SLC SSD for raid 0 as well since it will help loading the animals faster.

edit: I'll upgrade to this case when it comes out Thermaltake Xpressar - World's First DC Inverter Type Micro Refrigeration Cooling System Thermaltake Xpressar $800

I'll second 3.0's sentiments. For that kind of cash, you could buy a similar-spec'd Dell XPS with a decent warranty.

MykC, you must really love that game...that's alot to spend for just one game.

Zoo Tycoon 2 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia the game says it only wants 32MB of video. Do you think 4GB of video is overkill?

It's a nice rig you've built, but that is a stupid reply.

For your video cards, maybe you could opt for BFG instead of ASUS. BFG offers lifetime warranty on them too. Not saying ASUS is bad, but I like BFG's warranty. Also considering they are on special this week at NCIX, now would be a great chance to buy them.

BFG GeForce GTX 295 576MHZ 1792MB 1.998GHZ GDDR3 PCI-E Dual DVI-I HDMI HDCP Video Card

So, I'm guessing you need a lot of crunching power to do your rendering and such right. Your RAID SSDs would be make sense and I'm guess all your applications will be installed on that RAID correct?

Also, I noticed... you don't seem to have a Power Supply (unless my eyes are starting to fail me ). But with that much power being drawn... I would go for a 1000w minimum. Then I would suggest this one:

Corsair HX1000W CMPSU-1000HX 1000W ATX 20/24PIN ATX 80A 12V Afc Modular Power Supply W/ 140MM Fan

You'll have plenty of power with that one, and also plenty of power sources (SATAs, 8 Pins and so on)

Nice Rig BTW, I would love to have that kind of budget for a computer
