Well, I know I am. lol.

Back on topic: I still doubt an SSD is worth the price/performance ratio. Save for the Intel, none can come close to besting a good 'ol Sub $150 Raid 0 array.

to answer your question. The new corsair 128gb is $400 and doesn't stutter on writes, but it does not perform like the x25m.
can we stop talking about this please, I diddn't flame anyone if anyone i was flamed. Just please stp the bickering and move on so this theead doesnt get locked.

We're back on topic now actually... We both agree that SSDs aren't worth it.

Sanjo: Welcome! I'm very new here, as well. But I"m old and grumpy. I can tell you are on the "younger" side of middle age, so I want to offer a little advice- On tech forums like this, you will encounter many, many people you probably wouldn't normally interact with. People a generation (or two, or even three) older than you, and with perhaps decades of experience in the computer world. For the most part, they (myself included) are a jaded lot. They have seen fads and gimmicks come and go, and they've been squeezing every cycle they can from 286s on up to bleeding edge components.

This is a very civilized forum, and I'm very happy I found it. Your original post was met with some criticism, but I think it was all because of that one word: jealous. I know it rubbed me the wrong way, but I usually never comment in threads that I just know will get me riled up.

This thread is the closest I've seen to an argument, and I am relieved to see that the situation is diffused now, with no harm done. And as you will see, this is an excellent resource if you are serious about Do It yourself computers.

Ahem, moving on.

~mutters under breath~

Okay! I totally agree that SSD's are a total wash for this generation of them. I've stopped myself from ordering one (or two) too many times to count now though. Fast and dead silent and soooo sexy looking. The next gen will be faster and cheaper.

but, without SSD's you aren't extreme, you aint nuthin.
