Those aren't gaming boards, they are enthusiast boards. Better power, better cooling, better overclocking features.

And given that you are getting 2-295's, you shouldn't be all that concerned about wasting money.

I assume you mean P6T. P5Q is an LGA775 board.

LOL I was waiting for that. I second and third the votes towards the bloodrage or classified. your going extreme, you want clocks! The bloodrage is the top of the line board right now by foxconn and they will not let it go down over bios issues... anyways http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum...age-build.html theres a worklog MgP is doing with that board, maybe you should ask him about his experiences with that board. and if your looking at other brands why not the NCIX.com - Buy Gigabyte EX58-EXTREME ATX LGA1366 X58 DDR3 3PCI-E SATA Sound 2GLAN 3-WAY CrossFireX SLI Motherboard - GA-EX58-EXTREME In Canada. it comes with a sound card ;) and its got EXTREME in the name =) although I do agree with you about dedicated raid cards, from what ive read the raid support on the x58s board are alot better then the last chipsets, but do yourself a favor and give these parts the enthusiast class motherboard they deserve, midranged or gamer just wont do.

With SSDs its not just the dedicated processor on the raid card but the CACHE that makes it head and shoulders better than onboard fake raid.

I've given my opinion and reasoning...do with it what you want.

And thats why I like this forum, I dont know enough about SSDs to have been able to tell you

I know motherboards and CPUs and ram and spindle hard drives! but theres ALOT more knowledge then that in this vast information pool. =)

But a lot of RAID cards out there add quite a bit of latency, which kills the point of SSD's.
