Default need help with video card set up

i'm going to build a new computer and i have picked out most of the parts and the mother board i have is 3 way SLI ready an i was just wondering because it's 3 way SLI dose that mean i can only set up one or 3 video cards or is it possible to use only 2 cards because thats all i can really affored.

Of course you can two way sli on a 3-way board. Or you can two way sli now and 3-way later, OR you can two-way sli now and add in a third video card by itself later to use as a physics processor!

CM's right on the money.

You can always download the user manual for the motherboard you're planning on using and take a look at how the manufacturer suggest you configure the board for a single, dual and 3 way.
